According the TR Equipement a French government customer has placed an order for the new SCAR SC (SubCompact) from FN Herstal in 5.56mm.
It features a reversible, curved nonreciprocating charging handle and telescoping buttstock.

I hope it was just a bad joke ; a honest mistake.
Otherwise it’s just a direct insult.
Only the French would be so easily offended.
It did actually, unlike the mcx rattler in 5.56 that it went against. At least it does not fall apart at 18k rounds like the rattler.
That is why SIG-USA calls it the Rattler. It rattles itself apart.
Well that almost sounded sarcastic if it was not the truth. Most MCX derivatives tend to fall apart at 18k to 20k. We found out the hard way with the LVAW. Funny thing is that problem is not a SIG only problem. It also applies to the 416 also, never mind the rest of the short stroke M16 derivatives that was produced in the last decade. The only way to solve the constant falling apart issues is to run a long stroke setup similar to a Daewoo K2 or a DI setup. Then again short DI guns have their own issues.
“New”? Didn’t this come out in 2017, or better yet in 2011 named Scar PDW, must be a relative term for a manufacture that’s as sluggish as FN.
The 2011 model was nothing more than a prototype batch that was sent out to a bunch of entities to test out. If I remember correctly, only eighteen were made and most of them stayed in EU. Plus that gun was a 5.56 only gun and not a 300blk/5.56 hybrid. FN had almost zero interest in the gun until very recently at least in the SOF market that it was designed for.
I would like FN to offer a semi-auto version of this for the US as an SBR or pistol.
non-reciprocating charging handle? Can it be put in a regular SCAR rifle?
Yes it can but only with an updated bolt carrier.
Well if its the GIGN, I’ll gladly take those 7.62×39 CZ Brens off their hands.
