DO NOT , DO NOT scan your CAC or other DOD issued ID to sign up for this or any other military discount program. It is a security of the US and prosecutable in the same way as copying US currency. A DD214 (as noted), or DD4 or DA71 (or equivalent) for currently serving personnel, should be sufficient. In all fairness, they do have a number of “club memberships” with the “etc.” note as that last bullet, so this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

I always wonder why companies so familiar with the military still ask us to scan our CAC and send them the copy. Website says a document with official letterhead, maybe a memo is better?

Great catch. You may have just saved some poor Joe from UCMJ. But honestly, AIMPOINT should know better.

    Thank you Aimpoint.

Your Mil.com or LE/Gov email should suffice. ID that good enough for you Aimpoint?

    • RD says:

It really shouldn’t. I know plenty of people with .mil emails that don’t come close to needing or really even benefiting from this.
