I remember when Logan came to Lewis and started sewing these modifications to our rucks. Regret selling that original large ruck. Still have a bunch of ta50 Logan modified for me here at the shop.

  2. Zach R says:

dated tech that needs to just go away. For nostalgic people that still use Alice webbing

    • Gear Guy says:

And this, ladies and germs, is how you tell everyone you’ve never done any type of long range patrolling without saying you’ve never done a long range patrol, or any work in the desert or tropics, for that matter.

    • Kris says:

Still better than the MOLLE ruck.

    • Brown smock says:

Great rucks, loved my Malice pack but I will say that the crossfire Frames and the way they built it definitely gives the Malice a run for its money if not exceeds it especially with armor.

  3. Kevin G says:

Great piece of gear. Mine has been with me since 2007 on several deployments and field problems.

  4. Bryan says:

Is there a new version/update coming out?

  5. Seamus says:

Got mine back in 2008, still going strong several deployments and CTC rotations later.

Any chance the new ruck is able to accept Mystery Ranch NICE frame or AttackPak frame?

    • Paul says:

If the pack is made for ALICE, then the NICE should fit quite nicely.

    • Andy says:

That’s my plan. I’ve had mine since 2006 and just replaced it for duty use last year with an MR Mountain Ruck. I will be getting a NICE frame for my MALICE and CSAR ruck soon. The only thing I can think to improve on them.

  6. Paul says:

I don’t need it, but I WANT it.

  7. Chris says:

I really hated ALICE gear when we started doing humps in 81’s in SOI. I then tried out the CFP90, and a Dana Design that I spray-painted when I got into the FMF. After trying both of those out on a couple of humps, I went back to ALICE, as it worked best with the then ‘body armor’ of PASGT vest, if I was a radio carrier, or carrying the baseplate, tube, and/or bipod. It was very durable, the lack of padding actually helped or did not matter (wearing it over the PASGT vest), and it was not that heavy.
