IWA 22 – GLOCK French Army Pistol System

So far GLOCK has delivered around 80% of the almost 75,000 Pistolet Semi-Automatique examples of the new which the French military selected in 2019 to replace their aging MAC 50 and MAS G1 9mm NATO pistols.

At IWA they showed us what the package looks like.

As you can see the system consists of a G17 with three extra magazines, an extra upper with mounted Aimpoint ACRO RDS, and B&T suppressor.

The French Army, Navy and Air Force are included in the contract along with some other French agencies.

I want this. Hard to believe they ordered 75k of those. Is that for regular issue with the RDS, light and supressor? I could see that for SF but not for Joe.

All I can think about when I see that is Arms rooms having to store all those boxes in one corner and all the weapons in a rack lol. So much space.

Imagine they completed this procurement in a year or two? The Canadian Army will be using the same exact pistol for 80? years before they can figure out how to buy a few thousand.

What light is included in the kit?

  5. 58sniper says:

That’s not how Glock ships them. And that’s clearly a dummy suppressor just for display.

I’ll let you in on a secret. The pistol is a dummy for display too. But that’s the French suppressor. I had dinner with the guy responsible for France.

  6. Good to see the pistol ships with a safety barrel-block to replace the factory barrel! Cost, retail? < $5?
