The Woobie is a flagship garment from the wool line demonstrating the premium materials and construction allowing for an exceptional fit and sharp look that can be worn all on its own but still work great under a smock or wind cheater.

Surprisingly light weight and incredibly warm with a thick stand up collar, low profile neck zipper, and wrist overs with thumb holes constructed from ACM-BASE 100. The tail is slightly longer in the back for added comfort. Made in the USA.
The Woobie is available in Black and Heather Grey, sizes Small-XLarge.

I have mixed feelings about the design, the advantage of poly liner is it does cut the wind better and wick but harder to clean

  2. Bil says:

$282 for what is essentially a sweatshirt. Is this the new “vogue” for men? Not GQ anymore, but wearing hideously expensive tac-gear. Move that price point under a $100, and you’ll sell a ton of them.

    • SSD says:

That’s just swell, but these are made in America from American materials. American wool is not cheap.

      • Gerard says:

Valid point about American made, Im considering a purchase next winter. I love First Spear, quality and craftsmenship

    • Luke says:

How exactly would you suggest they “move” the pricepoint? make it in china out of the same cheap crap as the thousands of other sweatshirts on the market?

If it were possibly to sell stuff like this for under $100 everyone would have already done it.

    • Steve says:

This like so much equipment featured on SSD is way out of my reach. I can’t can afford one of these, or an $800 Mystery Ranch ruck, or some sick two radio PTTs… But my Gov Purchase Card can afford it and I know 20 other guys that could use one too. Performance costs, so roll on SSD. I won’t complain about the price of something that’s good enough it’s worth it, I complain it takes too long to get an NSN so I have to write more memos.

      • Gerard says:

Good point Steve. If the pentagon wont buy it for you First Spear may have a discount for active duty guys who despretely need the best kit.

  3. Zach says:

I hope I wasn’t the only one supremely disappointed that this wasn’t a woobie stuffed with ACM-WARM 600 versus whatever comes in the normal poncho liner.
