Yesterday, I received this note from Military Morons.
As you may guess, the Altama Maritime Assaults have been my favourite everyday wear footwear, for many reasons.
A couple of months ago, I thought it’d be cool to have some Altama Maritime Assaults in an OD/Black colour scheme, inspired by the classic Vietnam Jungle Boots. I asked them about it and they liked that idea, and put in the order for the samples. I also requested that these come without the large pull loops in the back. They went a step further and put my militarymorons skull logo on my one-of-a-kind samples.
Whether these eventually become a collaborative special edition, or a standard colour offering from Altama, I thought you might like to throw these pics up on SSD.
So what do you think? Should they produce a run of these Military Morons special edition Maritime Assaults?

The OD definitely evokes the look of WWII era dive shoes.
As someone who already has the high tops in black, I’d buy ’em in OD…

I really like them and would absolutely buy a pair of them. I have the all black mids and wear them almost ever day.
How do the sizes run? I don’t think I can get them at a store around here and I’m a bit worried about ordering a pair and having to send them back. Thank you.
Sizing is totally off. I normally wear 9 1/2 in civilian shoes and ALL other military boots, but after trying several pair (wearing socks) I settled on size 11! (mine are not the “MM Edition”, but I presume they are sized the same way). Good thing I made the pilgrimage to a shop in Raleigh.
They run narrow, so size up a half or full size. I believe that wide sizes will be available next year.

Throw up a crowd-funding and/or pre-order page and have people put their money where their mouth is to see just how many can you will really sell.

Definitely make these, they’re rad. But keep the pull loops. Putting these on wet without the loops would blow.
If Altama made it a standard offering (just the OD green/black combo), it would have the pull loops like the others.

How is this not the first color they made? Looks great, and at that price looks like a hell of a deal.
I purchased a pair of low tops in Crye Precision camo when they were released last summer, I had to return them as there were uncomfortably very narrow.
Perhaps they’ll make the O.D.’s. in a wide.

My black low-cut OTBs are my everday shoe. Comfortable, zero-drop, resilient. Just wish I could get a pair in Multicam Black.

Shut up and take my money! These are the best all around shoes I’ve had in a long time. I keep wanting to order a lifetime supply just in case. But these… it’s a shame about the loops though. I like them.
