ZEV Technologies Announces The Selection Of The OZ9 Combat Pistol By The Department Of Energy, Office Of Secure Transportation

Department of Energy OST (Office of Secure Transportation) has selected the OZ9 Combat X as their duty sidearm of choice. The OZ9 Combat X went through rigorous testing and evaluation. Modularity, ergonomics, reliability, and optic ready design all contributed to their decision.

Per the sole source contract aware notice, “The ZEV 0Z-9 handgun not only scored the highest overall technical score among six (6) 9mm gun manufacturers, but the ZEV 0Z-9 handgun received the highest individual testing criteria scores in regards to weight, damage resistance, low light operations, pointability, ergonomics, malfunctions, recoil management, and overall impression.”

Does anybody know what D.O.E will be paying per unit?
This is not a cheap option for what (to my understanding) is a very expensive Glock 19 with some limited modularity within the super expensive Zev ecosystem.

Is there any reason they are going with these– vs standard Glock pistols with taxpayer money?

    • Zak says:

I’m sure it’s a reduced price from retail, but it’s more expensive than a Glock. They previously had M&P in .45cal. So this will be a welcome change. There’s only about 350 Agents, so overall it’s not that much compared to the overall budget.

Does anyone know what DOE is paying per unit on these?

ARE THESE WEAPONS ALSO GOING TO BE USED TO INTIMIDATE THOSE WHO THINK THE :GREEN ENERGY” POLICY IS JUST PLAIN IDIOTIC?

Frank, you need to take the CAPS lock off and take a knee. You might also want to do some research about the things you’re commenting on. Go read up on the National Nuclear Security Administration and the Office of Secure Transportation.
