May 18, 2015: Armour Wear, the leader in body armor technology, has combined efforts with Shellback Tactical to help launch a new body armor package: The Banshee Defender System. Due to the popularity of the Banshee carrier system and customer demand for a better well-priced armor plate, Armour Wear and Shellback Tactical created the Defender System. The Defender series addresses the shooter’s main concerns from a price conscious, rock solid carrier that is user adaptable to the peace of mind of being equipped with Level 3+ or Level 4 plates (which can stop multiple hits from 62gr Green Tip 5.56). The Defender System starts at $439.99 MSRP.

The Art of Future Warfare project will be hosting a discussion on Envisioning the Future of Urban Warfare at the Atlantic Council on June 23 from 1500-1630. It will be the capstone to a war-art challenge calling for graphic novel and comic book illustrations revealing what urban warfare might look like in the 2040-50s.
Max Brooks, New York Times bestselling author of World War Z and Jon Chang, the writer of the Black Powder Red Earth series, along with the winner of the art contest will be discussing the topic. The best illustrations from the contest will be on display for all to see and the panelists will discuss the future battleground that is expected to encompass sixty percent of the total world population in the near future.
The Art of Future Warfare project, housed in the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security, aims to create a world in which artist, writers, illustrators, directors, videographers, others, and creativity enjoy a valued place in the defense establishment’s planning and preparation for the future of warfare and conflict.

The 3rd Annual Duskin and Stephens Beef and Beer Benefit is this THURSDAY, May 21st at the Pinehurst Fair Barn. If you are in the Fort Bragg area, there is no better way to kick off your Memorial Day weekend than with this event honoring two fallen Green Berets, CW2 Mike and Duskin and SFC Riley Stephens. This is an excellent event run by two active duty Special Forces NCOs. The past events have helped support Army SOF soldiers and their families. This is a family friendly event which, in addition to raising money, also helps connect SOF service members with the local community.
For more information visit:
Earlier in the year former teammates and friends of Mike Duskin also hosted a 3 Gun Competition. The match honored four former Special Forces Soldiers who were also competitive shooters and raised money for the Task Force Dagger Foundation. The first place shooter won a Salient Arms Tier 1 Glock 17 which he in turn donated to this year’s Duskin and Stephens Beef and Beer Benefit Silent Auction. Next year the planners of the 3 Gun intend to move the match to May in order to be held closer to the Beef and Beer Benefit.
