AR Lower Receiver Extension Adapter for SIG MCX Upper

Monday, February 9th, 2015

Once the SIG SAUER MCX hits the market, you’ll be able to use an MCX upper with a standard AR lower thanks to this receiver extension adapter.

FullSizeRender

The MCX doesn’t use a traditional operating or “buffer” spring like on a standard AR. Consequently, this adapter takes the place of the receiver extension and is required because the MCX uses dual operating springs which sit above the bolt carrier group. This makes the upper a little taller than a standard version. The Picatinny rail section accepts the various stocks.

New AR Accessories Coming from Frank Proctor

Saturday, January 31st, 2015

Frank Proctor released some photos and details of his latest rifle. In those specs are a couple of surprises including a new light mount, bolt release and muzzle device made by Troy Industries, he’ll be releasing soon

(null)

Here are some pics of my new blaster at the range. I put this rifle together as a do everything rifle. I wanted fast and accurate from the muzzle to as far as I could work with the ammo and wind. ( I’ve shot to 900 with a set up similar to this)

I needed it to do EVERYTHING well but be as light as possible. This one weighs in at 7 pounds 3 ounces as pictured (minus ammo) Also worth mentioning this is on one of my rifle ranges. the big berm in the back is 300 yards and the paper target is at 10 yards. I zeroed this rifle at yards using my technique of getting a 200 yard zero at 10 yards. I wasn’t sure how well this would work with a 6x optic due to parallax but it worked like a champ. After I zeroed in about 6 rounds ( brand new scope, mount and rifle) I shot everything on this range including 6” plates at 300 from this rock. My Way of the Gun rear bag did help the stability a bit!

Here’s the components list on this rifle.
-BCM upper with 12.5” stainless midwest bbl and 10” KMR rail, BCM mod 4 -Gunfighter charging handle
-Tennessee Arms Polymer Lower
-BCM Gunfighter Stock
-BCM Gunfighter mod 2 pistol grip
-Geissele SSA trigger
-Vortex Razor HD Gen 2 – 1x-6x
-Aeroprecision light weight mount
-Troy Battle mag (only ones I’ve used since 2012)
-Proctor Sling
-WOTG rear bag

-Prototypes of my Muzzle device that will be produced by Troy Industries as well as a Prototype of my Bolt release that will be produced by Troy Industries
-Prototype of my light mount

(light mount, bolt release and muzzle device will be available on my website in the coming weeks!)

Lancer Releases One Piece Adaptive Magwell

Tuesday, January 13th, 2015

Back in November I got a chance to check out Lancer’s Adaptive Magwell. Initially developed as a two-piece item, Lancer Systems created a few one-piece models to demonstrate to the US Army as a simple add-on to existing mil-spec M4/16 rifles. Now, the one-piece variant is available as a production item. Installed with a cartridge tip, it’s a great way to incorporate a flared magwell into existing mil-spec weapons without having to replace the lower receiver. I’ve tried it and with minimal practice, you can easily insert a magazine without having to bring the weapon up into your workspace to take a look at what you are doing. Sure, the Luddites will say that you can get there with a standard magwell and they are right, but the flare makes it a lot easier. The Adaptive Magwell slides onto the rifle’s existing Magwell and detent at the rear of the Adaptive Magwell fits into the front of the trigger guard to hold it fast.

Component to Debut at SHOT Show 2015, Lancer Booth #7503

adaptive magwell one-piece

Quakertown, PA – January 13, 2015 – Lancer Systems LP, a leading advanced weapons and components engineering and manufacturing company, today announced the release of the one piece Adaptive Magwell, a simple, easy-to-install component engineered to significantly reduce reload times for law enforcement officers and Soldiers. The new magwell will debut at SHOT Show 2015 in Lancer’s booth, #7503.

With its funnel-like design, the one piece adaptive magwell increases the diameter of the magwell and trigger guard area. The component is designed to fit Mil spec 5.56 AR style rifles with winter trigger guards and requires no tools to install. The adaptive magwell is machined from 6061 T6 aluminum and weighs 0.05 lbs.

“A few seconds can make all of the difference for our military and law enforcement officers. The one piece adaptive magwell is a simple, cost effective tool that an officer or Soldier can quickly attach to his or her rifle without any tools to significantly reduce reload times,” explained Ty Weaver, director, advanced weapons & components, Lancer Systems.

Lancer is driving the weapon industry’s push for innovation through advanced technologies. The new adaptive magwell is engineered to reduce reload times, maximize reliability and exceed military standards. MSRP $99.99. Available March 2015.

BCM Standard 16″ C8 SFW (Special Forces Weapon) Upper Receiver Group

Monday, January 12th, 2015

Created at the request of Larry Vickers by Bravo Company, the BCM Standard 16″ C8 SFW (Special Forces Weapon) Upper Receiver Group was inspired by the Colt Canada C8 upper receiver used by several NATO SOF units.

IMG_0945.JPG

You’re getting BCM quality here but in the same configuration as the Diemaco/Colt Canada C8 SFW. Additionally, the URG includes a removable Simon Sleeve (on front of barrel) used to mount a variety of accessories fielded by these units. That’s something you aren’t going to find in an off-the-shelf build.

IMG_0946.JPG

European SOF began to field the Diemaco/Colt Canada C8 slightly behind the USSOCOM adoption of the M4A1 in the 1990s. Throughout the war on terror, its use expanded. Currently, it is fielded to Canadian SOF, various British Special Operations units, Norwegian Special Operations, Dutch Military, and others.
