Each year, New Balance offers a special color run of select shoes from their Minimus line to AAFES. This year, they will be the MX20 and 1010v2. Both will hit Exchanges in October.
I’m pretty excited about this new MX20 mid-trainer. It offers all of the advantages of a minimal training shoe with the mid height. It kind of reminds me of a wrestling shoe. Look for these 1/1/14.
I know a lot of guys have adopted Salewa boots since we started writing about them but some guys, understandably, can’t because they don’t have a Brown model. Now, Salewa has introduced the Hike Trainer GTX in Brown.
Think of it as a lighter baby brother of the Alp Trainers that I wear. It incorporates all of the classic Salewa features like climbing shoe lacing to the end of toe box , climbing zone under the forefoot for technical terrain, full Gore-tex lining and their patented 3F fit system.
The Velocitor from Bates Footwear is now available for order. It incorporates athletic styling with an exoskeleton design.
Offered in Black, Desert and Earth Brown, sizes 7-15.

Our friends at CFF have a little bit of a dilemma. Apparently, they received a good deal of material on the first run that had small splotches of glue, “too natural” leather, a deviation in stitching, etc that couldn’t be shipped to dealers or pre-order customers. But, they’ve put the material to good use, producing what they refer to as ‘Blamos’ or blemished models.
They assure us that the flip flops are functionally perfect and the small blemishes will disappear after a short period of wear. In fact, I received a pair in London and they are awesome. If anything, I’d say that they have a little more character than the ones I received last year.
Now he’s the beauty part. They’re available now for $49.00!
Proudly made in the USA by the CFF staff.
