It uses the same sole system as the Declination that came out year, this Nonwaterproof Mid is highly breathable with a padded collar and 550 cord lacing. It also integrates their Outdoor Essentials concept of incorporating survival aids into the design.

Stream Runner Hybrid

The Stream Runner Hybrid offers the look and performance of a trail shoe but it’s actually a water shoe. It utilizes Vibram MegaGrip compound for traction on slippery surfaces.

It drains out of the Outsole with dual screens as well as the midsole. It also drains from the upper. It utilizes a Fuschia, perforated footbed and elastic laces. It also features perforated foam padding.

OR – Rocky S2V

We first mentioned Rocky S2V during their soft launch at Summer OR. Now, in addition to a full brand launch, Rocky S2V has introduced a couple of new products. SSD readers will probably be most interested in the Agonic Prima-Flex softshell and Substratum XLD boot but there is also a new softshell and pant that we’ll cover soon.

The Agonic Prima-Flex is a hybrid performance piece combining 100g Primaloft insulation in a Teflon DWR coated rip stop nylon shell with VapourFlex compression side panels and cuffs. Like all other S2V garments it includes a mini-survival kit as well as a combination signal panel/goggle wipe. Additionally, the interior of the arms of the jacket are fluorescent red for use as signaling devices. Offered in Med – XL in Raven, Desert Khaki and Fire Ember.

The Substratum XLD is a 9″ full grain leather waterproof boot insulated with Aerotherm and PrimaLoft. Under the insole is a hidden cache containing a firestarter and wetcubes. Additionally, the Vibram sole is crampon and snowshoe compatible. The boot is topped off with 550 laces.

Use Your Boots to Start a Fire

Yeah, I know. It sounds crazy doesn’t it? Well, it’s not crazy of you have a pair of new Rocky S2V Substratum Direct Attach Hikers.

To make a fire, just remove your boot and pull out the foot-bed. In a recess beneath the footbed rests a firesparker and wetcubes from Ultimate Survival Technologies. .

The Sparkie is a one-handed emergency fire starter that weighs less than one ounce. It also comes packaged with two WetFire tinder cubes.

But these aren’t just a vessel for a cool firestarter. Unveiled at Summer OR, Rocky offers an upper made from nubuck leather and ripstop nylon with a polyurethane rand wrapped around the toe and heel. They’ve also included 550 cord laces for additional survival applications.

The Substratum Direct Attach Hiker also features a moisture-wicking lining and Hydro IQ (waterproof/air circulation). Additionally, it is insulated with Aerotherm® Aerogel insulation and PrimaLoft® insulation in targeted sections of the boot. Here’s another cool survival component. The antimicrobial insole has been made in a bright, fuchsia color; not only will it suppress odors and cushion your feet, but can also be used to signal for help.

Finally Available – A Grenade You Can Send Through The Mail

Developed in conjunction with Mountain Shepherd Survival School, the Rocky S2V Grenade debuted during OR Summer Market as a component of their new S2V clothing line. A survival tool, the Grenade cocoons a variety of basic survival tools within a 550 cord fob.

Now, the Grenade is available for order as a stand alone item. Available in Black, Brown or Olive from rockys2v.com.
