The UXR Modular Rifle By PWS: Now Shipping to Dealers

Monday, May 20th, 2024

The newest product in the PWS lineup – the modular UXR platform – is now shipping to dealers.

BOISE, Id. 21 May, 2024 – PWS (Primary Weapons Systems) is proud to announce that the newest product in the PWS portfolio, the UXR (User Xchange Rifle), is now shipping to dealers across the United States. This rifle, previously introduced to the public at SHOT Show 2024, allows for revolutionary, unparalleled modularity. The UXR platform is currently available in .223 Wylde and 300 BLK with a .308 caliber option to follow shortly.

The true innovation in the UXR platform lies in the patent-pending Xchange system. The upper receiver of the UXR is the only serialized part of the setup, enabling the shooter to easily transition from configuration to configuration, caliber to caliber. The UXR also features an incomparable look and feel – combining functionality, ergonomics, and aesthetics into one platform. Adaptability is the core principle of the UXR, showcased in its many customizable features such as an adjustable buttstock that can fold left or right, an adjustable cheek plate, and ambidextrous-able selector switch, magazine release and even the charging handle. The UXR platform also features a proprietary internal operation, or a “modified long-stroke piston system”, allowing the rifle to adapt and perform flawlessly with any UXR barrels regardless of caliber. This allows the user to swap calibers and barrels without needing to adjust the gas system each and every time. The newly designed Bore Evacuator reduces back pressure, especially when a suppressor is being used, making the UXR the perfect platform for suppressed shooting.

For more information on the UXR, head to the PWS website or contact your local dealer. For more information on PWS, head to primaryweapons.com.

NRAAM 24 – Kel-Tec

Saturday, May 18th, 2024

Kel-Tec has updated their 9mm SUB2000 carbine to a Gen 3 model. Upgrades include a metal trigger and it will accept a GLOCK 17 magazine. Additionally, the charging handle in the stock features bolt hold open slots in either direction.

But the biggest change is that the barrel twists and folds so that you can keep optics mounted even when folded.

NRAAM 24 – SIG SAUER

Saturday, May 18th, 2024

SIG has an amazing booth, easily the largest at the show, but there’s not much new on display. In addition to showcasing SIG Connect which is an app-based entertainment and training platform, there are a couple of gems to be found here and there.

One of those is this concept for a version of the Cross bolt action rifle featuring wood furniture.

At this point they haven’t decided whether they are going to do it or not and are soliciting feedback. Personally, I like it.

FightLite Releases Multi-Caliber HERRING Model 2024 Lever Action

Tuesday, May 14th, 2024

(Melbourne, Florida USA) May 13, 2024 – FightLite® Industries, a division of ARES Defense Systems® Inc. located in Melbourne, Florida formally releases its new multi-caliber, HERRING® Model 2024 – Modern Lever Action Rifles and Pistols!

First announced in October 2022, the patented HERRING® Model 2024 is a family of high performance, extremely accurate and modular lever-action firearms that provide for flexible caliber and magazine reconfiguration at the user-level, without tools to support virtually any shooting profile. HERRING® significantly advances the state-of-the-art for lever action rifles and pistols above legacy systems that have been the norm for over 150 years, and it is now officially in LRIP production with select customer deliveries that began last week.

Invented and designed by notable small arms designer and company CEO Geoffrey Herring and his team at FightLite® Industries, the Model 2024™ significantly raises the bar for lever action guns by incorporating the latest materials, heat treating options and finishes into a modern, robust, lightweight, and accurate firearm family.

Additionally, The HERRING® Model 2024 leverages the vast AR accessory industry to provide for different calibers, barrel lengths, optical sights, silencers and accessory mounting needs. And like an AR-15, the HERRING® Model 2024 utilizes off-the-shelf AR-15 bolts and barrel extensions, which gives it even greater flexibility and product support.

“In addition to producing all-weather sporting guns such as our SCR® family of semi-auto rifles, our team at FightLite®has spent the better part of 27 years designing and producing hard use, sustained-fire automatic weapons like our belt-fed MCR® which we have supplied to both our own government, as well as those of other nations.” says Geoffrey Herring, founder & CEO of ARES Defense & FightLite Industries. “So, when we made the decision to develop a truly modern lever-action system, our team was perfectly positioned and enthusiastic to leverage our cumulative experience designing and manufacturing hard use, military grade weapons that must not fail during difficult combat conditions. We are very well versed in technical details such as material selection, preventing, or overcoming failure points caused by water intrusion or dirt, sand, mud, salt water, ice, etc., and understand that designing guns to meet requirements of MIL-STD-810Hfor things like corrosion resistance or drop-testing is just something that we do every day regardless of the project. An example would be the 6:1 mechanical advantage that’s designed into the HERRING® Model 2024’s primary extraction mechanism; because when clean or muddy brass obturates against the chamber wall and breech system at 55,000 – 70,000 PSI, you’d better have figured out a reliable way to extract it.”

Mechanically, the HERRING® Model 2024 family uses a rotating bolt like an AR-pattern semiautomatic, and it also accepts all AR-15 (STANAG) pattern magazines, including 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60 and 100 round AR magazines. Due to its modern, magazine-fed design the HERRING® Model 2024 doesn’t suffer from center-of-gravity shift as a tube-fed rifle does when loading or firing, nor is it limited to round-nosed projectiles. It is designed to accommodate high pressure, high velocity ammunition including 5.56 NATO and Hornady 6mm ARC, as well as great hunting loads like 350 Legend and .450 Bushmaster.

The patented HERRING® Model 2024 marries the proven accuracy, adaptability, and high performance of the AR platform with the established power and all-American rugged dependability of the lever-action repeating rifle.

FightLite® Industries is exhibiting its products at the 2024 NRAAM during May 17-19 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Attendees are invited to visit the FightLite® booth #11331 where they can get hands on experience with their exciting new products such as our HERRING® Model 2024 Modern Lever Action Rifle and Bandito® pistols, as well as legacy systems including our Dual-Feed® MCR and our universal SCR® platforms.

Daniel Defense Issues Update on H9 Pistol

Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024

We have received this statement from Daniel Defense regarding key holing issues with the H9 pistol:

At Daniel Defense, our customers are central to everything we do — your trust and support make us who we are today — and our commitment to you is to deliver products that will be trusted for generations to come. That’s why we stand behind every one of our firearms with our 100% Lifetime Guarantee.

Trust is built through open, honest communication.

Thanks to that open communication, we heard your overwhelmingly positive feedback, but we were also made aware of a keyholing issue that has been reported by less than 2% of DANIEL H9 owners.

After weeks of testing and pallets of ammo, our engineers were able to replicate the issue with very specific ammo under very specific conditions. We immediately paused all production and shipments until we could ensure that our flagship handgun performs under any condition and exceeds all expectations.

We have been tirelessly and extensively testing solutions — leading us to the root cause of the issue and the solution: re-engineering the design of the barrel.

Although the vast majority of DANIEL H9 owners have experienced no issues, because we are committed to standing behind our products 100% of the time, we will upgrade the hardware for everyone. The upgraded barrel will ensure the performance you expect of a Daniel Defense — even with the most budget-friendly ammo.

The hardware enhancement will be completely free of charge to you, and shipping is on us.

Within 30 days, we will share the steps to complete your upgrade. If you have not yet received your DANIEL H9, rest assured that yours will ship with the upgraded components.

We appreciate your honest and open feedback. Know that we are listening and committed to making firearms the right way, right here in the United States of America, for generations to come.
