SHOT Show 17 – SureFire Masterfire

Tuesday, January 17th, 2017

I did not see this one coming. SureFire has introduced a Polymer Holster, designed to be used specifically with pistols equipped with their weapon lights.

The Masterfire Rapid Deploy Holster will fit most pistols because it uses a proprietary cam and lug system to grip the weapon light in two places to offer level 3 retention with primary and secondary lock systems. This means it will also work with suppressor equipped pistols.

You may notice and “On/Off” Switch at the side of the holster. When selected, this functionality will turn the weapon light on when the pistol is drawn.

Above, you can see the thumb button. Once it’s depressed, you rock the grip of the weapon slightly forward as you bring the pistol into action.

The Masterfire is designed to work with these lights. You’re getting a sneak peek at some upcoming Polymer weapon lights from SureFire.

Emissive Energy debuts new APL Glock Compact and new Gen3 APL & APL Glock models

North Kingstown, RI – Emissive Energy Corporation, an industry leader in weapon mounted lighting products, has expanded its APL (Automatic Pistol Lights) product lines today with three new pistol lights including a new compact light and two new Gen3 lights.
The Gen3 APL and APL Glock products continue to be just as lightweight (at just 2.95 ounces) as discovered with their Gen2 predecessors, but now provide new upgrades including 400 lumens. Incredibly powerful yet compact in size, the Gen3 APL integrates with MIL-STD-1913 and Universal rails and features a new glass reinforced polymer body, which offers higher-impact resistance and durability.

The Gen3 APL Glock integrates with Universal rails only. There are two operating modes: constant and momentary and the new products are water resistant and offer a contoured non-slip switch for easy on/off.

Extensively tested for performance, durability and reliability, customers won’t find a more advanced pistol light on the market today.

The APL Glock Compact is a brand new Inforce product providing 200 lumens in its 2.43-inch glass reinforced polymer body.

“Our new APL products are consistent with our vision to continually explore new ways to provide dependable lightweight, high-quality products,” says Matthew S. Wolfe, Vice President of Emissive Energy Corporation. “Our new products offer higher lumens and integrate seamlessly, providing simple, fast mounting with no need for additional tools.”

• Aluminum clamping system for improved strength and durability

• High efficiency emitter providing up to 1.5 hours of runtime from a single Lithium CR2 battery
• Completely flush mounting with muzzle of a Glock 19

FirstSpear Range Day 17 – TNVC TAPS

Monday, January 16th, 2017

TNVC has made it happen! The Tactical Applications Pressure Switch (TAPS) from Unity Tactical has made the transition from low rate to full production.

It mounts directly to a Mil STD 1913 rail and its two pressure pads are user programmable to slaved or individual modes so you can control both light and laser from a single pad. You can control momentary or constant with the switch.

One lead works with SureFire lights while the other interfaces with Steiner or Insight lasers. It requires a single CR-2032 battery but will still offer momentary On with a dead or no battery.

Fountain Valley, CA — SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of the world’s finest—and most innovative—illumination tools and tactical products, will be launching its brand-new XC2 at the 2017 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The addition of this laser in conjunction with its 200-lumen white light, makes the XC2 the ultimate compact accessory for concealed-carry. The XC2’s momentary and constant-on switches also feature improved ergonomics, further improving the weaponlight’s overall performance.

Now those who carry concealed not only have the capability to positively identify threats, but also improved low-light target acquisition and the ability to fire from non-standard shooting positions.

LaserMax Announces GripSense Activation Technology

Tuesday, January 10th, 2017

Rochester, NY – January 9, 2016 – The new activation technology from LaserMax is coined GripSense™ and offers users dual activation choices via instant on with capacitive touch or button controlled activation.

“Offering consumers the ability to choose between modes of, button activation or GripSense activation is really incredible” said Chris Tinkle, Chief Sales Officer for LaserMax. “Our GripSense Technology is a safe and tactically sound instant on capability that consumers have desired for years, while still providing the ability to have controlled activation.”

The Patent Pending GripSense Technology utilizes similar technology to smartphones, in that the product contains a detection zone in the area that users middle finger indexes the trigger guard of the firearm and senses the user’s grip on the firearm and activates the light or laser instantly. The use has the option to turn off the light or laser with the push of a button or disable the GripSense Activation and rely solely on the button activation.

“I am very proud of our team and excited to see the market’s reaction to our new GripSense Technology,” said Chris Tinkle. “Our team has been very careful to work on an “instant on” solution for laser aiming devices. We challenged our Engineering team to develop a solution that met customer demand while ensuring that the product doesn’t comprise proper doctrinal use of laser aiming devices in law enforcement or self-defense use cases. Our team delivered an incredible solution in GripSense Technology.”

LaserMax released GripSense technology at distributor shows last week and plans a full debut at the 2017 Shot Show in Las Vegas Nevada, January 17, 2017.

Colt Launches Tactical Lighting

Monday, January 9th, 2017

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (January 06, 2017) – Legendary firearms manufacturer Colt is excited to announce the release of its first line of integral-mount weapon lighting and handheld tactical lighting systems. The product line includes four tactical flashlights and four weapon-light systems, featuring up to 1200 lumens of high intensity power.

The new line of tactical and weapon lights are designed with the quality and performance Colt customers have come to expect from all of its product lines. “They are a new standard in portable mountable lighting,” said Tan Woo, lead design engineer for Colt Lights. “Now Colt enthusiasts have an answer for their illumination needs – be it for hunting, training, or law enforcement and security duty. These robustly designed lights can withstand the rigors of daily use while providing superior visibility when environmental light is low to extremely dark.”

The Colt weapon light models includes the slim, rail-hugging integral-mount Microtac® MS white light and Predator™ green models. All of the integral-mount models are built with high performance, low-profile bodies and reversible heads and tails for optimal on-rail customization. They are efficiently powered by AA or AAA battery power systems (depending on model) for up to 400 lumens of output. “We wanted to make sure that our mountable lights were recoil-resistant for nearly all hunting rifle calibers,” said Woo. “And for flexibility, we designed them to mount on both Picatinny and Weaver rail systems, so sportsmen can easily use them with their existing equipment.” The light mounting system supports multiple ambidextrous mounting options. Predator™ models ship with both white and green LEDs.

The four new handheld tactical lights offer the same professional grade quality as the weapon light series. Tactical lights include the 1200 lumen high-intensity PeaceMaker® which is powered by four CR123 cells, the 800 Lumen compact slim-line Judge® powered by two CR123 cells, and the AMRAM® Microtac® AM100 and AM200 Backup Series. “When something goes bump in the night, these handheld flashlights offer the kind of illumination you need to inspire confidence,” says Woo.

Colt Lights will be available through Shop.Colt.Com and ColtLights.com.

Laser Devices Still In Action

Monday, December 19th, 2016

How cool is that? Before it was known as SureFire, there was Laser Devices. Love that on/off switch.

Gratuitously borrowed from NOLATAC Firearms Training who says this beauty was recently used by a customer at the range.
