The ROSCH Works SL1 is the an integrated front sight and weapon light. It combines an adjustable front sight post with a 250+ lumen light in a compact, lightweight package – 3.5″, 3.2 oz. with battery. This allows the user to mount a light at the 12 o’clock position while maintaining a front sight in the same position, maximizing rail space for additional accessories and reducing overall weight. The SL1 is capable of a run time of 50 minutes full output from a single CR123A battery. A twist-style tailcap allows for three modes of activation: always off, momentary on, always on; the SL1 operates only on high mode.

Three Sixty Corporation – Advanced Combat Helmet Light (ACHL)

The ACHL helmet light from Three Sixty Corporation is a tactical, lightweight center-mounted, multiple-output helmet light. It features four white LEDs, two red LEDs, one blue lens for medical personnel, and a blackout cover.

Helmet_White-11

The ACHL features a durable, lightweight polymer body. The weight of the ACHL is only 1.25 oz, and is powered by a single CR2 3V battery. It is capable of producing 35.2 lumens with a runtime of 8.9 hours, and 6.2 lumens of red flood light with a run time of 25.6 hours.

The white LEDs function as general-purpose, immediate work area illumination. The red secondary LEDs provide center-mounted illumination without producing a large light signature. The blackout cover slides into place for adjusting the amount of light used, or eliminating light entirely.

The ACHL is designed to attach to any Modular Integrated Communications Helmet (MICH) and Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) via the included centrally located mount. With this mount, the light can be rotated 360 degrees, and can also be quickly removed from the mount by removing the battery cap. The ACHL also comes with a lightweight headband, eliminating the need for a separate quick-use headlamp.

Currently available for pre-order.

OR – Barebones Outdoor – Connect Power System

Glamping with Barebones

One thing all of us have learned over the past few years is that we can face power outages due to natural disasters or other mishaps. Many have turned to solar, wind and fossil fuel generators. Others use these power generation systems for camping and other outdoor activities. I’ve run across numerous power collection and management systems but generally they fall short with distribution, particularly those systems available to the commercial market. When I saw the Barebones Connect Power System at Outdoor Retailer I knew this was something I’d want to share with my readers.

LightSwitch

In fact, CPS was created out of necessity by the Utah-based crew at Barebones Outdoor who provide assistance during disaster relief operations. Originally intended for use with their Safari tent seen above, it can be use virtually anywhere. The basic CPS kit includes a single six-foot extension cable, an On/Off push-button switch box, a three-prong male AC adapter, and their ingenious outlet box that features double three-prong AC outlets and two USB female outlets for portable electronics. Any of the components can be ordered separately to expand the system for larger structures or your own specific power needs, and all CPS components are compatible with Barebones light fixtures and battery packs. It’s essentially a plug-n-play system and due to its scalable nature can be configured in a wide variety of ways.

The CPS is compatible with multiple power sources and features a three-prong grounded male plug adapter, allowing it to plug directly into any power source with AC input. If you are off the grid, the CPS is compatible with solar and fossil fuel generators. Goal Zero’s portable batteries and solar panels also work with the CPS, making continuous off-the-grid power possible.
