OSS Introduces New & Improved RAD 22

Monday, May 24th, 2021

Millcreek, UT – May 24, 2021
OSS Suppressors has introduced a new version of their popular rimfire suppressor – the RAD™ 22. Designed with OSS’s next generation Flow-Baffles™, the RAD 22 builds on their advanced Flow-Through® technology to deliver unmatched performance for rimfire shooters.

“Our engineers were amazed how light and quiet the new RAD 22 was with the next gen Flow-Baffles,” said Jake VanAllen, Director of Commercial and LE Sales. “It’s an ounce lighter and 2-4 dB quieter on a Ruger Mark IV than the most popular .22 suppressor!”

OSS’s innovative Flow-Baffle design directs expanding gases away from the bore-line, and radial grooves route them forward through the suppressor and away from the shooter. This means the RAD 22 runs quieter and cleaner than other rimfire cans, and is easy to disassemble and reassemble without special tools or indexing.

RAD 22 Specifications:
• Made with titanium and 17-4 heat-treated stainless steel, it measures 5.57” and weighs 5.5 oz
• Delivers 114-118 dB performance at shooter’s ear on most rimfire rifles and pistols
• Full-Auto rated for 22LR, 22 magnum, 17 HMR up to 5.7
• Uses a ½x28 thread pitch to connect directly to the host firearm
• MSRP $449 – available at Silencer Shop and Authorized OSS Dealers

Griffin’s GP-N™ (General Purpose, Nato) suppressor is a robust, dedicated 5.56mm suppressor which provides secure fitment to common A2 compensator. The A2 compensator is a familiar muzzle device to nearly all AR15 rifle owners. This simple, inexpensive, yet effective compensator has served the military for decades. The Griffin GP-N™ was designed to bring modern suppressor technology to the A2 mountable class of silencers which became commercially popular decades ago with the Gemtech® Halo.

Fully billet machined from 17-4 stainless steel, the GP-N™ offers users with an extremely durable welded general-purpose suppressor. Full H900 heat treatment further increases strength and service life to the product. The mounting collar is QPQ nitrided and the suppressor is spray coated in Cerakote® to provide a smooth, heat resistant, and desirable finish.

Cutting edge materials and composition aren’t the only upgrades to this suppressor.  Griffin’s ECO-FLO™ baffles provide substantial blow-back reduction on semi-automatic systems while balancing sound pressure levels at the shooters’ ear and the muzzle to optimize sound performance.

“There are hundreds of thousands of firearms globally that use the A2 compensator.  This is a highly fielded, low-cost muzzle device that has served free world military units for decades.  This silencer brings modern materials, construction, performance, and durability to this simple, robust attachment system. The objective of this product was to offer a modern suppressor that could provide a direct fitment to those firearms. ”

“OSS is honored to have been selected as the official suppressor for the new Canadian Forces sniper rifle.  OSS’s EL-QD 762 suppressor was previously selected for the US Army’s CSASS and SDMR (Squad Designated Marksman Rifle) contracts,” said John Spurrier, CEO of OSS Suppressors, “Our patented and proven Flow-Through® technology continues to be accepted by military programs around the world as the only suppression solution that prevents the blowback of toxic gas and particulates while delivering exceptional sound suppression, accuracy and durability – in the most extreme conditions.

Mechanix Wear Suppressor Products

Friday, March 5th, 2021

Leveraging their protective handwear for welders, Mechanix Wear has introduced three new products to manage the extreme heat produced by weapon suppressors: a cover, transport bag, and mitt.

Manufactured from CarbonX thermal resistant fabric technology and constructed with heavy stitching of DuPont Kevlar, they will withstand heat up to 2000°F.

Suppressor Cover

This 6″ suppressor cover (1.5″ outer diameter) mitigates radiant heat that causes burns and mirage distortion to the sight picture. The cover is made from CarbonX heat resistant fabric, padded with heavy felt and insulated with aluminum. It’s topped off with a CarbonX cord with metal lock to secure it to your suppressor.

Suppressor Transport Bag

Intended to hold up to two hot suppressors, this CarbonX Transport Bag is just over 14″ in length.

X-Pad Suppressor Heat Barrier

When it’s time to remove your suppressor from your weapon, the X-Pad Suppressor Heat Barrier protects your hand by serving as a mitt thanks to inserts for your fingers and thumb. This design helps grip the suppressor to get it loose. Extra insulation is provided by a heavyweight felt interior, withstanding up to 2000°F for 20 seconds.

New RAD 9 and RAD 45 Pistol Suppressors from OSS

Monday, February 1st, 2021

Millcreek, UT – February 1, 2021 OSS Suppressors LLC proudly introduces the new RAD™ 9 and RAD™ 45 – a significant advancement in pistol suppressors. Lightweight and modular, the RAD 9 and RAD 45 are built with our next generation Flow-Baffle™ technology, substantially reducing gas blowback while maintaining superior pistol performance. You’ll feel the difference the first time you shoot.

OSS’s innovative Flow-Baffle design is based on our patented and proven Flow-Through® technology. Flow-Baffles direct expanding gas away from the bore-line, and radial grooves route them forward through the suppressor and away from the shooter.

“We began development of the 9 and 45 after the launch of our popular rimfire suppressor, the RAD 22,” said David Sanders, Director of Research and Development. “As most pistol owners know, you need some blowback for your pistol to function. So the design challenge was to mitigate the blowback increase when suppressed while maintaining superior pistol performance. We’ve done it with these two new RADs!”

Technical advisor Dan Brokos, CEO of Lead Faucet Tactical and retired Army Special Forces SGM did extensive prototype testing. Here’s what he had to say:

“It’s annoying to get that constant sting in my face when I shoot my Glock suppressed. When I first shot the RAD 9 and 45 in a side-by-side comparison with popular pistol cans, I was blown away by the difference! Less gas, less recoil and a real soft feel, and my groupings were tight AF.”

“We’re excited to have the new RAD 9 and RAD 45 available to purchase March 15th at SilencerShop and other OSS Dealers,” said Jake VanAllen, Director of Commercial and LE Sales. “They really check all the boxes for what pistol owners are looking for in a modular suppressor.”

RAD 9 and RAD 45 FEATURES:
• Modular design – with long- and short-configurations
• Reduced blowback – less annoying gas and particulates
• Reduced recoil – shoots flatter and feels softer
• Quiet – Industry competitive dB reduction
• Accurate and repeatable
