MBUS Pro LR

MAG527 MBUS Pro LR Sight B

The MBUS Pro LR offers many similarities to the existing MBUS Pro Rear, however it includes a tool-less elevation adjustment wheel to the sight arm. This wheel utilizes positive detents for 200-600 meter ranges in 50 meter increments.

M-LOK Paraclip Sling Mount

MAG607 M-LOK Paraclip Sling Mount

The M-LOK Paraclip Sling Mount is the M-LOK compatible variant of the older MSA – MOE Sling Attachment. It’s made of Melonite-treated steel for resistance to wear and corrosion, and utilizes two M-LOK T-Nuts for a solid mount to M-LOK handguards and forends. Designed for use with clip style sling attachments such as the Magpul Paraclip.

QDM Quick Disconnect Sling Swivel

MAG543 QDM

The QDM Quick Disconnect Sling Swivel is Magpul’s take on the common push-button QD swivel. Made from Melonite-treated steel, the QDM is, according to Magpul, stronger than its contemporaries and offers improved corrosion and wear resistance. The dual side release tabs are designed to be easier to use than the traditional top-button design while still being secure against inadvertent activation. This also gives the QDM body a shorter length for better clearances when used with end-plate mounts.

All three of these products will begin shipping the week of SHOT Show.

WeaponsMan.com – A Blog I Like

Monday, January 5th, 2015

Written by an SF Weapons guy (pre-18 series), WeaponsMan is a blog about weapons. It’s that simple. I’ve started reading the content and I like it.

Check it out. In particular I recommend the two part series, “The Big Lie About Wanat (COP Kahler).”

ADS Inc’s Sales Team Trains With Leupold and Knight’s Armament Corp

Monday, January 5th, 2015

I recently had a rare opportunity to participate alongside members of ADS Inc’s Sales Team in new equipment training of products from Leupold Optics and Knight’s Armament Corp at Special Operations Veteran Jim Smith’s Spartan Tactical just west of Fort Worth, Texas. It was unseasonably cold and wet that week but we made the best of it, combining classroom, pistol, carbine and SR-25 range sessions as well as a little practical application during a night shoot in search of wild hogs.

IMG_9743

Jim has a great facility at Spartan Tactical with a variety of ranges with targets in excess of 1000m.

Classroom instruction was focused on optics, shooting theory and product info. Because the group had a variety of experience levels, hands on instruction started out with carbine basics with optics and ramped up to the point where the participants where engaging targets at 900m once we switched to the SR-25s.

Everything we did focused on the practical application of various Leupold optics, even during the day two handgun session. The event gave me a much better appreciation of Leupold’s lineup and I know that the ADS folks I accompanied gained a lot of confidence in their use and picked up some new understanding of customer requirements. They also got to take terminology and theory and apply them first hand to successfully engaging targets.

ADS Inc has been working with vendors for years to offer updates to enhance existing systems, new components and turnkey solutions to enhance the lethality of their customers. In fact, the new Weapons & Optics catalog is available for order where you can check them out.

Leupold is going to release some VERY cool new products at SHOT Show (can’t show them just yet). The ADS team is well acquainted with these items and can help agencies and units with placing orders. We’ve already shown you a couple of other new products from Knight’s (Anti-Cant Device, Improved 45 Degree 200-600m Offset Rear Sight and Bipod) and those are available through ADS Inc as well.

H&K G41C – One of the Coolest Guns Never Made

Friday, January 2nd, 2015

IMG_0782.JPG

Brought to life by TSC Machine, the H&K G41C is a never produced Carbine variant of the G41. The 5.56mm rifle was introduced by H&K in 1981 as a replacement for the HK 33 but dropped from the H&K lineup in 1996 primarily as I understand it, because the planned replacement of the Bundeswehr’s G3s with G41s never came to fruition due to costs associated with the reunification of Germany. A couple of design features you may find interesting are the forward assist and dust cover as well as the use of STANAG M16 magazines. Additionally, the original G41 had a wire carrying handle like the FN FAL and used the classic H&K roller delayed blowback system.

IMG_0780.JPG

This home brew Carbine model is TSC Machine’s concept of what a G41C would look like if it were produced today, even down to the Tan color.

The weapon was however, built by H&K in a K configuration. Although, I’ve got to say, this doesn’t exactly look Kurz to me it was purportedly spoked to stand for Karabiner. Later, H&K standardized the C suffix for carbine.
