The commercially available version of Colt’s new .308 rifle is the SP901 rather than CM901 (Colt Modular). It will go for a cool $2,129.00. What makes this rifle so special is that with a simple change of upper receivers, you can covert the 901 from .308 to .223. No other alterations to the rifle are required thanks to the 901’s innovative magwell.

Panteao Productions introduces a new title in their Documentary series of videos called “Colt Model of 1911 – 100 Years of Service.” The US Army adopted John Browning’s .45 1911 on March 29, 1911 and while it is the most widely copied handgun in history, Colt is the only company to manufacture the pistol continuously since then.
According to Panteao, “We take you to the Colt factory in West Hartford, CT and follow the manufacturing process of the 1911. Among the modern machinery and manufacturing processes you’ll also see the same machines that have been in service for the past 80 years. You’ll also see many of the assembly and fitting steps still carried out by hand, just as they were when the 1911 first went into production.”

We have received a couple of tips that Colt has a new rifle in 7.62, model number CM901. Apparently, it will also be backward compatible with 5.56 uppers and has already been demonstrated for potential US Government customers. Sounds like we have a new contender in the “SCAR WARS”. We expect to see it unveiled at AUSA in October.
Remember, you heard it here first.
Clyde Armory of Athens, Georgia is exclusively offering the Colt 6720. The Colt AR15-A4, Lightweight LE Carbine model 6720 is, in a nutshell a 6920 with a 6520 barrel and MATech flip up rear. The 16″ barrel features a 1:7 twist and the MATech flip up rear site has been standard military issue for years. The rifle also comes fitted with GI furniture including pistol grip, collapsible butt stock, and hand guards.
Overall, it looks to be a solid lightweight rifle built to Mil-Spec. However, pricing has been set by serial number (which you can choose) and there is a serious difference in price between the lower numbers available now and higher numbers available this summer. With the current of glut of guns on the market I just don’t see these becoming collectibles unless you have a vanity issue over a certain number.
