How about two times ‘Made in USA’? This is the Danner x New Balance American Pioneer Project, a limited edition collaboration featuring two trail-inspired styles – the Danner Light Pioneer and the New Balance MiUSA 585.
Yesterday, while I was touring the Danner footwear factory near Portland, Oregon, I noticed that they were producing a Black version of the Rivot boot. For those of you unfamiliar, it is a lightweight, Berry Compliant boot that incorporates the San Crispino construction. It’s a trademark construction used by Danner and features a unique stitching pattern between upper and sole.
The Rivot is already offered in both Tan and Sage Green so the addition of Black is great for LE and first responders. It offered in both Men’s and Women’s styles and incorporates a 100% waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex lining. Danner also worked with Vibram to introduce a proprietary outsole for the Pivot which features a 360 degree lug pattern.
Danner boots is launching a national media campaign titled “An American Tradition”. As part of this campaign, Danner has created an ad for their tactical line, featuring the Rivot tactical boot. This and other ads will be featured the on Outdoor Channel, History Channel and CarecoTV. Additionally, Danner will also featuring digital media on major hunt, military, and sports websites, in-cinemal advertisements at select military bases, targeted radio and billboard placements across the country, and ads in key hunt print media.
The Danner Gavre is a mountain-style boot with a Nubuc leather upper and Gore-tex lining. It incorporates a proprietary sole with pentagonal center lugs and heavier side lugs for side billing and scrambling.
Available in Olive (shown) and Gunmetal sizes 6-12 and limited sizing options up to 16EE!
Available Mid-December, the new Tachyon takes lightweight to a whole new level. Weighing in at 13 oz for a size 10, it integrates an encapsulated EVA midsole with a fully rubberized outsole. There’s no exposed EVA on the bottom of this boot and provides slip and POL resistance. Additionally, the insole is of PU to last the life of the boot.
The Tachyon features a fully synthetic upper with a coated toe to increase service life. Finally, you may notice the low rocker design and running shoe profile of the boot.
Look for them in Tan, Sage Green and Black.
Designed for use as close combat boots, the new Melee series of footwear offers several styles, including full boot (8″), ankle height (6″) and low cut (3″). In addition to the traditional Black and Tan there is also a new Brown color called Canteen intended to serve as civyflauge.
Look for these by December.
Danner displayed their Danner Flight Assault (DFA) line released at SHOT Show. These styles integrate their Vertical Insertion Arrestor (VIA) technology which is designed to assist with control during fast rope descents. The Canteen, seen here, is a Gore-tex lined boot features toe lacing and an upper manufactured from a combination of 1000D Cordura and Nubuck leather. Additionally, the Danner Descender outsole is made from a Vibram V-4 ultra-abrasion rubber compound.
Finally, they were also giving sneak peeks (sorry, no photos allowed) of two new high top styles that will debut next SHOT Show. These are pretty nice and will be a great lightweight, low-profile option who are looking for tactical features without the signature.
