TNVC Includes Goggles With AN/PVS-14 Purchase

Friday, October 14th, 2011

TNVC is now including a FREE pair of Revision Military EXOSHIELD Ballistic Goggles with the purchase of every ITT PVS-14 Night Enforcer. We’ve extolled the virtues of the EXOSHIELD and agree that it’s low profile design make it the best eye-pro for use with NVGs because the user can bring the NVG all the way back to the eye. Other goggles and shooting glasses cause the NVG to stand off from the face, diminishing the operator’s view and are prone to scratching from the NVGs. TNVC wanted us to make sure and let you know that no, this deal is not retroactive.

AUSA – Revision Military

Revision Military’s Batlskin technology is making its US debut at AUSA. Batlskin is a modular, scalable head protective system. It integrates with existing ballistic helmets (ACH) With a front mount that does three things. You can integrate NVGs offering increased stability by using existing holes in the helmet. Additionally, you can use the mount to attach a visor and finally, the mount also accepts a mandible guard. The components can be attached and detached while the helmet is worn allowing you to tailor protection to the threat.

Additionally, Revision has developed a helmet retention system and liner that is optimized for use with the ACH. It can be used to upgrade your current helmet or in conjunction with the full Batlskin Head Protective Sysyem. The liner is a three piece affair which helps with proper pad placement for impactrotection. This means the middle pad can be removed to accommodate headsets.

Revision Wins German Eyepro Contract

Thursday, August 18th, 2011

Canada-based Revision Military has just captured a sole-source, multi-service contract to supply the German military with over 256,000 sets of a modified version of the Sawfly Military Eyewear System through 2013. The competition included a rigorous bid process and extensive in-service user trials including in-theater use in Afghanistan.

According to a press release from Revision Military:

“To have been selected as the standard issue brand following one of most rigorous bidding processes we’ve seen to date, is a testament to the people, processes and technologies that we employ to advance the science and performance of this vital piece of soldier equipment. We are proud to be the German military’s protective eyewear supplier of choice,” said Alex Hooper, Vice President, International Sales.

Revision developed a new lens shape and two specialty lens tints for this contract. One is for a specific-wavelength laser and the second for high altitude mountain operations. The 256,000 kits are available in three sizes – small, medium and large, will include clear, solar and vermillion lenses. Additional quantities of laser protective lenses and Prescription (Rx) Carriers are also included in the contract award.

Revision to Develop Next Gen Helmet

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

Recently, Revision was awarded a three-year contract with the U.S. Army’s Natick Labs Soldier Systems Center worth $1,990,340 to develop a next generation helmet. Although you probably consider Revision just an eye pro company, they have been hard at work developing other protective products. For example, take the Eye Shield and Maxillo Facial Protection they showed at the 2009 AUSA conference.

According to a press release from the office of Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), “The new helmet will integrate both ballistic impact protection and blast protection from rotational forces that are believed to contribute to the relatively high number of brain injuries suffered by soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. The helmet will have built-in communications systems, include enhanced chemical protection for the wearer, and will integrate a protection for the jaw and lower face.
