Official Update on US Army Camouflage Improvement Effort

We just received this statement from Army PEO Soldier Spokesperson Debra Dawson:

“The Phase IV Camouflage Effort Award are tentatively scheduled to be announced during the second week of JAN 2012. Letters have been issued already to those offerors who did not make the competitive range for the effort.
Once the contract award is made, there will be a 10-day period in which any Protests to the contract award must be filed. Following that protest period, Army Contracting Command will officially release the names of the awardees.”

Thank you to PEO Soldier for keeping our readers up to date. This should make for a very interesting SHOT Show.

I look forward to you digging up as much as you can about the contenders, both those that did and did not make the next round. I hope there are not too many further delays, as I believe everyone wants to put the “universal camouflage pattern” behind us.

So who gets to “protest” against the contract awards? The companies that have already been dropped?

I note also that it said “tentatively scheduled”… So still room to delay further if they want.

    Interesting times indeed.

That’s usually what happens, but it would be kinda funny if a huge mass of grunts filed a joint protest if they pick another ineffective pattern.

Yep thousands opon thousands grunts dressed in the UCP and Multi-Cam shouting at the guys incharge of the project saying “GET OFF YOUR FAT PEN PUSHING A***S AND GIVE US THE SHIT WE WANT” lol nothing like the sight of mad as hell grunts in god awful digital gray. Now thats a protest i can get behind.
