TangoDown iOCover

The iOCover is now part of weapon accessory manufacturer TangoDown.

iOCover hit the scene a few months ago via a Kickstarter campaign. Billed as a “One-Handed, Built-in Lens Caps for Micro Optics” the iOCover is designed specifically to fit the Aimpoint T-1.

They made their Kickstarter goal and we threw some funding in the pot in order to secure a prototype. It was a win-win for us. We helped out a young entrepreneur and received a sample to try out. It’s been on a couple of rifles here at SSD and works great. The only issue was color matching during the prototyping phase but they’ve long since worked that out.

As you can see, it armors the optic, is easily removed and replaced to provide camouflage to the factory Black finish and incorporates lens covers that can be snapped inside one another during operation.

We’re pleased to see TangoDown working with iOCover on this project and look forward to purchasing more for the rest of our T-1s.

  1. I supported this effort early on – found out about it on SSD – and I have been using a pre production one for awhile now

Great piece of kit – well done Joe !!

Have had a prototype for a few months and am very impressed with it. Very happy to see he and Tango Down have finalized their relationship.

    I am completely sold.

I missed the kickstarter contribution, wish I hadn’t. This thing looks great.

I’ll be ordering one as soon as they hit the vendors. This looks to be an excellent alternative to paint for those who picked up the silver finished R-1s a few years ago when they were on Midway (maybe it was Brownell’s) clearance.

  5. FormerSFMedic says:

Yeah, it’s definitely a great piece of kit. I had some reservations about the design but after talking to the inventor about other possibilities, it seems the original concept is the best way to go. I think the IOcover is going to be a big hit.

  6. CapnTroy says:

    Congrats Joe & TangoDown! It’s great when a plan comes together… 🙂

  7. OC Tactical says:

Been running one of the prototypes for a little bit now and love it. This is an outstanding product.

Glad these will finally be available, I missed the Kickstarter campaign also. Is that a factory anodized Daniel Defence mount there or is it a coating?

  9. Michael Novack says:

I lucked into the Kickstarter project from a posting by inventor Joseph Chen. I’m glad I was able to get aboard. He has been diligent in keeping us in the loop on the project and I have been very happy to see how well Kickstarter works. I hope they don’t pull any anti-gun shenanigans in the future, because this has lots of potential for the very rapid development of new products. The TangoDown crew are great guys and it’s nice to see the partnership of good people bringing an innovative product to market and hopefully making some money. I long for my FDE cover. Are you paying attention, Aimpoint?

I kicked in some $ to Kickstarter to help this along; I can’t wait to get mine! Thanks, Joe C. for putting this together!

  11. Daggertx says:

I will definitally be picking one up when they are released!

  13. I would like to purchase numbers 3 cover, Someone can tell me where?
    Thanks in advance.
