Grey Ghost Gear to Launch Civy Pack Line Called G3

Idaho-based Grey Ghost Gear told us that they are launching a civilian pack line called G3. They will start out with three pack: Large 2218 cubic inches, Medium 1345 cubic inches and Small 375 cubic inches. These bags will be manufactured in the same factory that Karrimor uses so we are looking at great quality. In case you’re wondering, these will be made overseas, for the civilian market just like all of the other packs on the civilian side.

    Any ETA?

If you have nothing good to say why say it at all. I would buy a Grey Ghost pack if I was looking for a civy friendly day bag. Having owned numerous other packs from them I know they will be well designed and affordable.

Keep up the great work guys.

I just want to point out that these packs are really almost (just almost, the last one seems more original) the same as Karrimor “Airspace” and “Zodiak” series (back systems,…). I know Karrimor packs a lot (sold tens of them) and the quality went down in last couple of years (not talking about the military series). I did love old Jaguar and Independent packs – bulletproof (way too heavy for civi use, I know, but I didn´t care back then) and 120% reliable, but these times are gone…

If it is the same factory…well, we will see.

It’s an interesting direction for Grey Ghost. I wish them luck but wonder if their backpacker customers will like their skull logo.

I cannot say this is a bad product, or low quality, or say it does not have features that would make consumers very happy. what I will say is that these products almost already exist.
for a competitive free market to produce better and better products it requires discerning, informed consumers. I am sure this is a “good” product but is it in fact “better?” For someone out there, I am sure one of these is the very best backpack for them, and I would love to hear why.

I understand the chief end of any company is to make money, I’m sure these will sell and accomplish that, I would never criticize from a business standpoint, only show disappointment from a consumer standpoint.
