SIG SAUER - Never Settle

Warrior East – Bates Recondo Update

Last week we showed you the new Recondo jungle boot from Bates Footwear. There was a lot of interest but some readers were concerned with the MultiCam colorway produced for SOF customers. Never fear, Bates has anticipated your concerns and produced prototypes of a wide variety of models including the Coyote model below.

They’ve also made models in the entire MultiCam family including Arid, Black and Tropical.

They’ve also looked at offering camouflage color soles for some customers.

Was there a model made out of cowhide rather than the Wolverine Warrior Leather, AKA pigskin? My concern is that this boot won’t pass muster with the AR 670-1 police since it isn’t specifically made out of cowhide leather.

Once again, these guys are in business to make money. They will offer a fully AR 670–1 compliant boot when they release that model.

Please update us when there are plans for boots in narrow width.

In 2003, it took AAFES nearly six months to get me my last pair of USGI jungle boots in narrow.

It’s very unfortunately that the Army has forgotten that various widths existed for a reason and that manufacturers have been permitted to eliminate some widths based on the reasoning that folks without median-sized feet can fit into other boots somehow and (more importantly) won’t know any better to complain about it.

Those black ones would be nice if they were plain black (no camo) and made of leather

  4. Tackleberry says:

Sweet! Will definitely be grabbing a pair when out.

  5. Dan says:

These are looking good! Definitely grabbing a pair when they hit

  6. Riceball says:

Much better looking in solid tan than the tan/Multicam combo they first showed. They need to release a black & green model as nod to the original jungle boots, I bet those would sell.

    USMC version….
