Recently Magpul came to market with the PMAG 17 GL9, a 17-round Glock 9mm handgun magazine featuring a new proprietary all-polymer construction for flawless reliability and durability.
We here at ZEV Technologies decided that the magazine wouldn’t feel complete without it having a stylishly aggressive looking ZEV basepad. After months of drafting and rigorous testing we have developed the first base-pad for Magpul’s new magazines. Installation and maintenance is incredibly simple, ensuring the magazine will perform exceptionally for many thousands of rounds
Specs:
• Add +5 capacity on 9mm
• 2 piece design for ease of disassembly and reassembly
• Available in Red and black anodized

MSRP?

Looks like $42 on their site. They look high quality and well made, but I find it hard to justify an accessory that costs almost 3x the price of the base item.
Yeah, no way anyone who’s spent $300 on a ZEV trigger and/or $700 on a ZEV aftermarket slide and barrel combo (then an aftermarket front sight and reflex optic and a custom holster or 2) could possibly be inclined to spend $42 x 3 to ‘pimp’ a set of GLPMags.
…especially because there’s no FDE option.
Choices are great because ‘merica and all but the notion that the Glock 19 (revolutionary in the reliability of all the components Magpul and ZEV are selling replacements for) needs this “help” is entertaining to watch. I mean, Glock built its market share by offering a solid platform at a great price–and a value proposition based on no need to tweak (‘cept for the Sharpie you need to fix the rear sight).
Of course, even Glock felt the need for Gen4. Because ‘merica.
OK, time to shop for spoilers and wings for my Chevy Volt.

Hopefully I’m not the guy who triggers the Nuclear Option…
Despite what you and a million people with your exact same personality think, firearm blueprints are not these perfect sacred things handed down from god and completely ruined the minute you add an aftermarket part
$42 😀
HAHAHA…. That’s a good one Zev. Thanks for the pre-SHOT humor.
Zev’s going to be really upset they spent any time or money when Magpul releases their own extended mags this week. I’ll be able to buy a $42 +5 aluminum baseplate… Or I’ll take that same money have be able to buy 2 23 round factory mags. What to do…
Dudes will still buy this widget. Because Gucci.
And related:
ETS Group dropped their 22-rnd competition legal (140mm) Glock mag in late 2015.
THIS! I’ve been meaning to pick up a couple for myself.
What do they weigh?
