SHOT Show 17 – Vortex Optics Razor AMG UH-1

IMG_0030

The Razor AMG UH-1 is a new Holographic Weapon Sight, utilizing Vortex’s Fusion Hologram with Quantum Well Light Control technology, which Vortex claims makes it “…the first holographic sight to meld the durability and energy efficiency of a red dot with the impressive sight picture, zero-distortion, and reticle pattern of a holographic sight”. Featuring a shockproof body with ArmorTek coating, the Razor is submersible up to 10m/33ft for 5 minutes, is powered by a single CR123A battery, and has 15 individual brightness settings. Additionally, the Razor has a 14-hour auto shut-off feature, which can be turned off by the end user, and a integrated Picatinny rail mount.

Im very interested but I want to wait at Least 6 months to wait for user reviews

  2. G-Dog says:

Really like the design on this – if it as good as it seems I hope they do well (and will probably end up buying one).

  3. CAP says:

Anyone know anything more about the qd mount for this? Looks kinda like and Elite Defense throw lever, or is it Vortex’s own design?

  4. JKifer says:

did you all happen to notice that you can get it with a rechargeable 123 (LFP123A rechargeable battery) that utilizies a mini usb port..?.. this seems very interesting to me.. im wondering about the feasibility of its use with ultra light/packable panels while on extended missions..

    • John says:

You’d likely have to be careful about rechargeable cells. On full charge they have a higher voltage (4.2 volts in some cases) than regular 123As.
But the mini chargers and small efficient panels are quite handy, especially for handheld lights or weapon mount lights.

This would be a cool alternative to the EO-Tech. I actually like this reticle better. Depending on price point I might pick on of these up to test it out. Cant wait to see one of these in stores and go hands on with it.
