Fountain Valley, CA—SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of the world’s finest — and most innovative — illumination tools and tactical products, is proud to announce the revolutionary new XVL2 WeaponLight and laser. The XVL2 was developed at the request of special operations customers and is the result of years of R&D. Compact, lightweight, and optimized for use with handguns and PDW’s, the XVL2 features a 400-lumen white light LED, a 300mW infrared illuminator, and both infrared and green aiming lasers co-aligned and slaved together for ease of zeroing in one simple step.
Available in a civilian-legal Class I version as well as a full-power, restricted Class IIIb model for Military and Law Enforcement, the XVL2 utilizes the same proven switching as our X300 series of lights, and can be ambidextrously activated in both momentary and constant-on modes. A mode selector dial allows the selection of illumination and/or aiming lasers, as well as a low-power training setting on the full-power, restricted MIL/LE version. All this capability is powered by a single 123A battery that can be changed from the front, eliminating the need to remove or re-zero the device.
Stop by the SureFire SHOT show booth #13968, for more.
I guess we will have to wait until SHOT for the release date. But this looks like it has it all in just the right doses.
Is it compatible with Safariland holsters made for the X300 series of lights?
Have you looked at the picture?
LOL
Not well enough apparently, I just saw a better pic from their booth. There was also a prototype Safariland holster displayed under it according to the person that sent me the picture.
Finally, the only reason I haven’t spent the money on an x300 orx400v is cuz the laser is visible.
but, when will they actually release this to buying public? I like Surefire equipment, infact I prefer it over the competition, but their track record of showing/announcing products versus actual release to the public irritates me.
They are delivering the restricted models. Commercial versions should be by next quarter.
My guess, this is aimed at M17/M18 US military customers. The MHS program did not include a light/laser, red dot or holster capable of holding either or both. So it is up to individual units to put the whole package together. This product directly competes against the Steiner DBAL-PS for unit contracts. Would love to know pricing info when it comes out so I can put together a price sheet and get the ball rolling at my BDE S4 in anticipation of my unit getting fielded M17 in August 2019.
