The concept is just organization enhancement like other gear. For example, technically you could just dump a med kit loose into your ruck, but isn’t very convenient. If you are carrying a lot of electronics that use batteries of varied types, this product will make the most sense.
Might also serve as a poor man’s counterweight to NVG’s?
I am sure there is a reason, but why would someone buy this? Just put your batteries in box or zip lock baggie.
