brb buying a 3d printer, a soldering iron, some usb cables and o-rings for a starting cost less than $4,629.99
I call this crap the MIC tax, they got you all whipped…
Ok I know the usual here is for keyboard rangers to complain about price when there are always some users it makes sense for, but I see about $3k worth of helmet + accessories bought individually (MPLS, strobe, light, NVG batt) so I do wonder if integration is worth that much more, and then having single point of failure potential.
You see power, I see power and data. I also see lower weight due to streamlined power.
5k just for the rail without a helmet is the craziest price ever. Some MFAL for 10k now seems reasonable while its alao overpriced.
The worst part is this rail is boltes to the helmet! While Safariland, NFM and others go for boltless shells and building in slots for screw sockets, Gentex chooses not to invest efforr into that but drill the shell.
Really. Really. Bad.
Update your shell and offer the helmet with Rallink and some lattice pads for 5k, than we might talking again
It’s not for you. That’s okay. Those who need it will pay for the capability.
Meanwhile a $350 drone with cheap Chinese thermals wipes the team wearing these? I’m all for better tech, but let’s be honest, this is falling into the $10,000 per ball bearing waste bucket.
You just made an argument against the very existence of infantry.
That’s not going away and either are powered rails. Btw, the government doesn’t pay what air softers do to play dress up.
