Viridian Introduces World’s First Hand Stop Laser

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – August 1, 2020 – After six decades, the AR-15 is still America’s rifle. The platform’s popularity stems from its speed and ergonomics. Now the venerable rifle design is poised to be even faster and easier to control thanks to Viridian Weapon Technologies’ HS1™, the first and only hand stop with an integrated laser sighting device.

“The HS1 combines the functionality of an AR hand stop with the rapid target acquisition provided by a Viridian green laser,” said Brian Hedeen, President and CEO at Viridian. “The combination makes for a much more ergonomic rifle and cuts down on the attachments that add bulk to a gun’s foregrip.”

Viridian’s new hand stop offers increased control and faster target acquisition with a highly visible green laser that’s intuitively activated by the grip of the shooter’s support hand.

The HS1 uses M-Lok mounts to make installation easy. The laser is adjustable for windage and elevation. The HS1’s pressure pad activates the laser with a variety of support-hand grips, adding an added element of control and speeding up time to target.

This combination of speed and control makes the HS1 an ideal addition to any AR. MSRP for the Viridian HS1 is $179.

Features:
• M-Lok Mounts
• Pressure Pad Activation
• Daytime-visible Green Laser
• Ergonomic Design for Pistols and Rifles
• Single 1/3n battery
• Adjustable for Windage and Elevation

Boy the shape of that hand stop sure looks…Inspired.

Too sublte perhaps. This product is like the baby you’d end up with if the daddy was slate black industries hand stop and the momma was crimson trace’s insatiable need to embedd a laser in everything.

  2. Amer-Rican says:

    These will say like hotcakes.

  3. Hmmmm says:

If it’s a hand stop, would you obscure the laser with the palm of you hand?

Maybe I’m doing it wrong. ?????

  4. One, maybe two fingers max. says:

Who was this designed for? An infant? One might be lucky to hook one finger around this.

Calling it a hand stop is a stretch, but the price point is compelling.

  5. Mike says:

Someone needs to do this with a light instead.

Interesting looking product. I’ve been wanting a visible laser for my rifle that wasn’t a lumpy pistol laser for quite some time. I’ve had the opportunity to play with a MAWL on several occasions, and a visible laser definitely has a time and place when shooting in low-light and/or cramped quarters. Unfortunately night vision isn’t even remotely in my budget, so a MAWL is expensive overkill for me.

Form factor is a little odd, but I get it. With this, you can put it in front of another handstop, vertical grip, or angled grip, and still have the choice on activating the laser.

Bushnell did something similar back in 2017, but I don’t think they make them anymore:

Wake me when we get working bore lasers that have visible/ir modes.

  9. Burdy says:

Anyone know what rail that is?

  10. MTW says:

Being that this is an aiming device, I’m curious about how the zero retention will hold up mounting via MLOK.

I’m assuming Viridian has done some testing on this?

Hasn’t there been other organizations post some data on this?

    • James says:

iiRC the army testing showed that repeatability was within 6moa for MLOK vs 2moa for pic, and 11moa for keymod. That’s just going off my memory though, believe SSD covered it, might try MLOK as search term.
