What’s with the “zombie” green on all of it?

    • SSD says:

Before it was Zombie Green it was just bright green. It’s so you can find your stuff while you are camping.

      • Subandsand says:

I understood it was to make it hi viz but yellow, orange etc wouldn’t look like it was being made for the zombie market. I could see people not buying it for that reason. Just my 2 cents.

        • SSD says:

The average outdoor customer has no idea what Zombie green even is. It will do just fine.

    • straps says:

      USN

The Freescape line is made in China.
Gerber does make some knives and other gear in the US, to see what, type “USA” in the search box on their website.

    • Riceball says:

Given that the Freescape line is aimed at the car camping crowd being made in China won’t make a difference and actually helps since it will reduce the cost of making these and thus their price. As an avid car camper I’m not going to pay hundreds of dollars for camp gear that I may or may not use but I think is kind of cool, bring the price down to $50 or less then it becomes much more affordable and justifiable. Sure, Gerber’s made in China stuff may not be as well made as their US made products but for its intended purpose and market demographic it”s good enough, it’s only for car camping so it’s not like your life depends on it, if it breaks while camping you just make do without it or you can always go into town and find a replacement if it’s that’s necessary.
