I still don’t quite get how these are going to do in the market. The holster is a compromise and it likely won’t work as well as a decent IWB holster. Sure, it’s adjustable…so is your current IWB holster. Mag pockets? Even as a LEO, when do I need to stick a PMAG in my jeans? I have pouches for that, several of them. Made in USA is great, but with a $130 budget, you can find US made jeans, it seems.
The holster appears to have a little “belt” that slips into whatever position in the waistband that you choose…is there Velcro or something in there? If not, what’s to stop a draw pulling out the holster and all?
Frankly, I’m afraid for me this is a really nice solution to a non-problem.
Then why did you just spend three paragraphs telling us it isn’t for you if it isn’t for you? You’ve got to have some interest if you’re taking all of that time to tell us why it’s so bad.

How about answering my question about how the holster doesn’t come out on the draw?

SSD, I thought he asked some reasonable questions about what he sees as potential shortcoming in these pants, and made a pretty decent case on why he thinks these aren’t worth $130.
I get that 757 is one of your advertisers, but I don’t think that obligates you to jump on anyone who doesn’t think they need these pants and has the unmitigated gall to actually say so on your site.
I was very nice about it and I still haven’t received a plausible answer. I will continue to ask folks why they want negatively to comment on a product they have no experience with and no interest in using. I want to understand their agenda. It doesn’t matter if S&S Precision were an advertiser or not. I’m tired of offering a platform for people who are toxic to business. I can tell you that SSD will go away if the BS continues. I have already had comments made to me by businesses that share info with us that they are reconsidering their relationship due to the recent uptick in unprofessional conduct here.

Some people will just don’t like it and share their opinion. That’s healthy.
I understand businesses won’t like negative comments but potential customers don’t always like all products.
A video of a man drawing his gun from those jeans may help him understand why or how the holster doesn’t come away when you draw, or how good it is at concealing.
You don’t need it – don’t buy it, but I think it’s ok to “spend so much energy” as you said to try to understand how it works.

You make a very valid point Miguel. How do I balance legitimate discourse with bullshit? I don’t know. Hence, the discussion that continues here at SSD on whether to close the comments.
Comments here are a quite similar to those you would get if this was shown in, for example, a range or an outdoor sports shop.
Some people like, some people don’t, and some bitch. Maybe some people can get offended by some bitching, but deal with it, those same comments are being said out there. Just because they are not here, or are just spoken doesn’t mean they don’t happen.
I bet there are gear review blogs and webs where they could throw their shit into, and I’m sure they do.
Now if this has become a community instead of a newsreading paper or showroom, they should use it and take advantage of the comments here and cut the crap, and use them for improvement.
I believe this community is an accurate reflection of the public out there. Don’t ignore what your public has to say. What is being said here is what can be said anywhere.

When most of the comments come down to “that’s too expensive” there’s nothing to be gained from them. Unfortunately, there are also a fair amount of comments by folks who wouldn’t know what to do with the item if it was given to them. Once again, there’s nothing to be gained. Constructive feedback is what I’d like to see but it rarely happens. The folks who the site is written for rarely comment and when they do it’s generally to give a verbal beat down to some ingrate. However, we do communicate offline in one way or another. Comments on SSD are a privilege, not a right.
I’ve worked very hard over the past six years to build this site and maintain its reputation. The recent rash of window lickers haven’t been here through all of that. They are like so many parasites that go from one online entity to another leaving destruction in their wake. They lack two things crucial to credible online discourse; knowledge and manners.
I’m a civil libertarian and am no fan of excessive rules. I also do not like censorship. I expect people to act appropriately. Unfortunately, some people can’t do that. I have to delete inappropriate comments on a daily basis that have nothing to do with the topics they are posted to and I’m not talking spam here. This is just people who shouldn’t be online. There are also entirely too many bigoted comments directed at one group or another. That gets old as well.
As for SSD becoming a community, it was never meant for that. There are forums and mail groups and IG and Facebook and Twitter for that purpose. The site was created to inform the market about what’s going on. In particular, its core readership is in Government service in a variety of roles. They read SSD regularly. That is how I measure success.

You have taken correct decisions over the last years. Comments are just a plus. If it hams your target audience, then what is the correct decision is clear to me.

What I meant was that I wasn’t posting ONLY to say “this sucks”. I articulated why this product doesn’t appeal to me. You didn’t answer my question either, by the way.
If you think my comments were trolling BS, you live a very sheltered Internet life. This pair of pants will never replace a stand-alone holster, and I can’t imagine why anyone would look at this solution and a comparable quality pair of jeans with a stand-alone holster and choose this option. Why would you?
Well, please point me in the direction to where I can purchase a good quality pair of Denim Jeans at $130. Let alone a pair with a holster included as well for the same price! I particularly like the idea of the completely inside the pants holster design, and I expect it to be executed as greatly as anything else that S&S makes. You, in particular, may not need the additional pockets, but they do come in handy for some people.
For me, the more pockets, especially hidden pockets, the better.
The hidden PMAG pockets look pretty ideal for carrying a passport/wallet while traveling to mitigate the risk of pickpocketing.
Mag pockets are great for keeping other items in your pocket organized and not clumped together. Zippo’s, flashlights, multitools, smokes, etc.

Duluth does make some nice jeans. But, then you have a pair of jeans and a holster. If you can’t tell the difference between what SSP has created and your solution, then the 757s obviously aren’t for you.
With all due respect intended, tell me why you’re drooling over these pants, besides the fact that they are made by an advertiser.
It’s a pair of decent jeans with a belt slide holster inside of them. Full adjustable? So is any other holster, slide it around on your belt. With these pants, you have select a spot between two of those slots. What if I want it on top of one of those slots? No dice. If you had any standard IWB holster, you could put it anywhere you have belt to hook it to.
Walk me through why this pair of pants beats my current pair of pants combined with the dozens of holsters that I (and tons of your readers) already own.
