Aero Precision – October Rifle Giveaway

Every month of the year, Aero Precision gives a rifle away. This month’s M4E1 carbine features Legal Manufacturing’s Nickel Boron Plated Battleworn finish.

This rifle was built with an AR15 Gen 2 Lower Receiver in NIB Battleworn™ along with a M4E1 Enhanced Upper Receiver in NIB Battleworn and a 12″ KeyMod Handguard with a Billet Trigger Guard in NIB Battleworn. It also includes a 16″. 223 Wylde Stainless Steel Mid-Length Barrel, a VG6 Gamma 556 Muzzle Brake, a 5.56 Nickel Boron BCG, Magpul CTR Stock and MOE Grip, 30-round Magpul magazine and Aero Precision Flip-Up Sights with an Ambidextrous Charging Handle.

The M4E1 also comes with a 36″ Lynx Defense rifle bag to store the Nickel Boron Battleworn rifle in.

AUSA – LWRC International CSASS

Although LWRC International didn’t submit a candidate for the US Army’s Compact Semi Automatic Sniper System solicitation, they did develop one. This is their solution.

Obviously, this 12″ gun is chambered in 7.62 NATO. Now get this, it has a 20 position gas block. You should be able to run just about any ammo, suppressed or unsuppressed. It’s a monoforged upper receiver with an LWRCi NiCorr treated spiral fluted barrel. The CSASS comes standard with LWRCi Skirmish Back-Up Iron Sights. The lower is fully ambidextrous including bolt catch and release, magazine release and selector lever. The trigger is a Geissele SSA Two-Stage Precision model.

MDM – Geissele Automatics Bayonet Mount

The M-4/16 has a bayonet lug just below the barrel due to a requirement that it has the ability to mount a bayonet. Unfortunately, that lug gets in the way when you want to use an extended handguard.

When Geissele was developing their submission for the cancelled M-4A1+ RFI, they decided to develop this Bayonet Mount which attaches to a Picatinny rail section at the bottom of a handguard.

This frees up a lot of real estate.

Sneak Peek – New M-Lok Rail from Troy Ind

I’ve spent the past few days with Dan Brokos at a TYR Urban Gunfighter class for Law Enforcement in Central Missouri, sponsored by TYR Tactical. Dan’s carbine was sporting a prototype, lightweight, M-Lok rail from Troy Industries.

Blind Owl Media Presents – Hodge Defense Range Day with TIG and SSD

Our friends at Blind Owl Media reminded us about this video from our first range session with a Hodge Defense Systems Inc AU Mod-1. We were joined by TIG, which was founded by a close friend as he transitioned from the military to life in the defense contract business. It was a fun day.

Last month Soldier Systems Daily, in conjunction with Targeted Integration Group took a few Hodge Defense Systems pre-production and production AU-Mod1 carbines out to C2 Shooting Center to put them through their paces.
