Award-Winning Stevens 334 Rifles Now Available

Tuesday, June 27th, 2023

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – June 26, 2023 – Savage Arms is now shipping the 334 Stevens Rifles that debuted earlier this year. Both the Walnut and Synthetic models are now shipping nationwide. The Walnut version chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor also recently drew high praise in the annual and extensive Outdoor Life gun test.

With a two-stage adjustable trigger, the Stevens 334 bolt action rifle comes in a Turkish Walnut stock option with a silver bolt or a black synthetic stock with a matte black action to match. This rifle is offered in three popular calibers with a 60-degree bolt lift to allow faster loading on follow up shots, making it a suitable rifle option for any hunter or shooter.

The response to these rifles by retailers has been strong, and Savage expects to see large numbers of these rifles on ranges this summer and in the woods this fall. Outdoor Life further legitimized these value-driven rifles in their most recent gun test. Held each year, there are no favorites, shortcuts or edit buttons in this all-out test of the latest rifles the industry has to offer. Amongst its peers (and several priced significantly higher), the 334 performed extraordinarily and took home the “Great Buy, Hunting Rifle” award.

“The Stevens 334 Walnut was the most surprising gun of the rifle test,” wrote Outdoor Life Shooting Editor John B. Snow. “While the stock is nice enough, the metalwork and design of the action is basic—though in keeping with the rifle’s modest $489 price tag.”

“But handsome is as handsome does, and the Stevens 334 charmed the entire test team once we started shooting it for accuracy. Its five-shot groups averaged less than ¾ MOA, making it one of the most accurate rifles of the test, and easily the most accurate hunting rifle we evaluated. It shoots way better than it has any right to, was our collective takeaway.”

The Stevens 334 Rifles pack features and performance into an affordable and reliable rifle. They are available in several make-sense calibers and can be found nationwide.

More information on the new Stevens 334 rifles is available at savagearms.com.

SIG SAUER Releases Rare Set of Surplus M17 and M18 Pistols to Benefit Sterling’s Promise Foundation

Monday, April 24th, 2023

NEWINGTON, N.H., (April 24, 2023) – Ahead of Special Operations Foundation Week (SOF Week) SIG SAUER is pleased to announce the first-ever public offering of a pair of M17 and M18 military surplus handguns with matching serial numbers through an online auction to benefit Sterling Promise Foundation.  All proceeds from this online auction, hosted by Guns America, will go to support the mission of Sterling’s Promise Foundation to provide financial support for early cancer detection and to cover the financial gaps that occur between treatment needed and benefits provided of special operations veterans.

This pair of surplus Modular Handgun System (MHS) pistols to include an M17 (serial # TF000041) and M18 (serial # TC000041) with matching serial numbers is 1 of 9 sets of MHS surplus pistols originally manufactured under contract with the U.S. Army according to the original specifications.  Both pistols were originally issued by the U.S. Army and fielded during the initial domestic and in-theater deployment of the Modular Handgun System. The unique, one-of-a-kind, features of these surplus pistols include coyote controls, the original government-issue markings and serial numbers, and orange rear and green front SIGLITE Night Sights.

“It is an honor for SIG SAUER to join forces with Sterling’s Promise to celebrate the life and service of Staff Sergeant Scott Sterling, who passed away early into his civilian career after a heroic battle with cancer, through this rare opportunity to own a piece of U.S. military history,” said Jason St. John, Sr. Director, Government Products. “We are hopeful that the rarity of these pistols will entice collectors to bid for a worthy cause.  Not only are these pistols a rare set, but I would also note that this M18 surplus is the first-ever to be released.  With only 75 of the M18 surplus pistols in existence SIG SAUER has no plans to offer them commercially, only through charitable auctions such as this or for historical display.”

SIG SAUER’s Jason St. John discusses the features of the M17 and M18 surplus pistols available at the online auction to benefit Sterling Promise Foundation.

The Sterling Promise Foundation was established in memory of U.S. Army SOF Veteran Scott Sterling who served in the 75th Ranger Regiment as well as 1st SFOD-D. Following his service, he enjoyed a successful civilian career in the industry and passed away in April 2021 from cancer caused by exposure during his military service.  The Sterling Promise Foundation was set up in his memory to help special operations veterans and their families by covering the gaps that exist between expenses and benefits, and to provide financial assistance for ongoing early detection medical screenings for improved health and survivability.

The complete details of this auction, detailed product photos, and product video with Jason St John can be found at GunsAmerica.com.  Bidding is now open through Thursday May 11, 2023, and the winner will be announced on Friday, May 12, 2023.

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – April 12, 2023 – Savage Arms will display at the 152nd Annual NRA Meetings & Exhibits in Indianapolis, Indiana from April 14-16. In addition to showcasing several new products in booth #6255, the company will also be honored with two Golden Bullseye awards and continue to showcase the AccuTrigger in its 20th year on the market.

Savage Arms will have plenty for all attendees to see and learn more about—with everything from first-look new firearms to some of the most popular in the historic firearm manufacturer’s lineup. Hunters, competitive shooters, plinkers and those looking for their next self-defense firearm will all share an interest in the Savage booth this year. Many of the Savage Models in the booth will also feature the revolutionary AccuTrigger, which turned 20 in 2023.

“We’re excited about our lineup and the fact that we’re debuting a new firearm at the show,” said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. “NRA members are getting a first look at a product we think is going to be a top-seller in 2023. Attendees are also going to be able to see some of our latest products that have redefined Savage—including the Savage 1911. The Savage 110 PCS was bestowed with American Hunter’s 2023 Pistol of the Year Award earlier in 2023 and will be officially recognized at the award ceremony Friday morning. Savage will also receive the hardware for its 2023 Shotgun of the Year from Shooting Illustrated when the Renegauge Security is recognized at the event. Both awards and the firearms that earned them show Savage’s dedication to expanding to new categories with products customers want—and that still perform at the highest levels.

Attendees are encouraged to carve out time at the busy show to stop by Savage’s booth. With several proven and popular models there to see first-hand, it’s a can’t miss.
