BHI Offers Gransfors Breaching Tools

Swedish built Gransfors Smide breaching tools are some of the finest available and Blackheart International has just added them to their line up.

The products are quite diverse and go beyond the standard “Halligan and Ram” offerings of other lines by leveraging experience in the military, police, and EMS arenas. Tools include bolt cutters, sledge, break and rake tool, steel and wooden door breaching tools, two sizes of rams, as well as a high jack. The tactical bar is an adaption of the TOVE crow bar manufactured by Gransfors since the 1940s.

The high jack was adapted from a product used in the for the forestry industry for over 30 years with the addition of extending tubes, an adapter crown, adapter U-hook, and a movable base with ring for strap attachment.

IBM Patents “Matrix” Bionic Body Armor

Remember watching the character Neo in the Matrix dodge bullets? Well apparently this has also been an obsession of engineers at IBM who were just awarded a patent for “bionic body armor” designed to scan for projectiles fired from a firearm. If one is detected, the system would deliver a shock to the muscles causing a swift, reflexive action away from the bullet. Something tells me that is going to leave a bruise.

The present invention relates generally to the protection of an individual against a projectile propelled from a firearm. More particularly, the present invention relates to a body armor system and its method of use that is capable of detecting a projectile propelled from a firearm, computing the trajectory of the projectile, and moving the individual out of the path of the projectile to avoid being hit.

Retractable Lanyard, Heavy Duty – Black

The Heavy Duty retractable lanyard is made to specifically for 215 Gear and is intended to support the weight of everything from an M-60 tool to a GPS. The wire extends to 34″ and is fashioned from 1/16â€ braided stainless steel with a protective coating and the reel extends to 34â€. Rather then the split ring found on so many other lanyards, 215 Gear spec’d out a 1/16â€ thick stainless steel braided wire loop ring with a screw-type closure. This makes less noise and is easier to manipulate when cold or wet. The lanyard features a PALS compatible metal clip to attach to equipment.

Currently available only in Black but accepts paint well.

Operator’s GPS Pouch

Basic Dimensions 5â€ x 2 1/8â€. Made specifically to hold the popular Garmin Foretrex 101 GPS, the new GPS pouch integrates a flap to guard against damage to your screen. The flap pulls double duty as it prevents light ADs from your GPS. The elastic band is designed to mount the system on the arm for the arm but allows the flexibility of attaching it directly to an M4 butt stock (SOPMOD and similar).

Currently available only in Coyote.

Norotos Dual Dove Tail Adaptor – PVS 14

Designed as a replacement for the issue PVS 14 rhino arm adapter, the Dual Dovetail Adapter attaches to the PVS 14 and allows it to connect to any mount accepting a dove tail style socket such as the PVS 15, 18, and 21. It features a shut off mechanism, moisture resistant construction to prevent electrical shorts, and flips around to accommodate right or left eye use. I checked it out at SHOT Show. Good stuff.

Designed to mount to the rear bolts on a PASGT or MICH style helmet (separate models), the UHM features 27 points to mount a wide variety of ancillary items to the helmet. Rapid Diver

It almost seemed like the proverbial fish out of water, a mannequin in tactical diver dress amid a veritable sea of guns and camouflage. Nestled between OTB Boots and Watershed MTP, the Rapid Diver Tactical 2.0 system from Zeagle offers a compact diving rig to the tactical community. While it is much more than just an emergency diving rig, it is well suited to that task. It is lightweight and features a small chest mounted bottle to make it easier to navigate tight spaces. Additionally, the tank can be refilled from other tanks. The design was optimized for rapid donning and fits a wide variety of body sizes. The BC also integrates MOLLE webbing. It is an excellent option for use as a back up rig or for operations where dive capabilities may be needed for emergencies.
