Blackhawk Expands T-Series with L2C Light Bearing Holster

Level 2 Compact Light Bearing Holster Available for Glock 17 TLR-7/8

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia –  March 24, 2020 – Blackhawk, a leader in the law enforcement and military equipment realm for over 20 years, announced today that it has expanded its popular line of T-Series holsters with the introduction of its first Level 2 Compact (L2C) Light Bearing Holster compatible with the Glock 17 and Streamlight TLR-7 and TLR-8 pistol light.

Designed to provide law enforcement, military, undercover agents, concealed carry holders and others with a dependable light bearing holster option, the latest T-Series models offers a perfect combination of durability and sturdiness for every-day use. Initially available in a right-handed model for the popular Glock 17, the new L2C holster retains key features to assist with rapid deployment from concealment.

Among the key features found on the L2C holster include a new speed cut to assist with a faster draw, a low-profile design and RMR-compatibility. Externally, the L2C holster features a proprietary, glass-reinforced nylon to ensure the highest degree of durability available in a duty rated holster.

Designed to follow Blackhawk’s Master Grip Principle, all T-Series holsters have been specifically developed to allow the user’s hand to land naturally where it should in order to deploy the sidearm. This efficient movement pairs with a sound-dampening, low-friction, dual-density internal material that translates into a smooth, quiet draw.

Additional key points that are standard on all T-Series L2C holsters include an all-new attachment method called the Quick Dual Release, or QDR. This attachment method features an intuitive button release that allows easy attachment to and removal from a belt without weaving it through traditional belt loops. The QDR can easily accommodate belts ranging from 1.5 to 2.25 inches and allows the holster to be canted at various angles, depending on user preference.

All L2C holsters include a Two-Slot Belt loop attachment method that allows the user to tuck the grip of the pistol toward his or her body for better concealment and less interference with daily tasks.

Comp-Tac Top Holster for IDPA Survey 8 Years In a Row

Thursday, March 12th, 2020

HOUSTON, March 10, 2020 – The International Defensive Pistol Association recently released the results of its 2019 IDPA Equipment Survey, with Comp-Tac Victory Gear® taking the top spot in several categories, including top competition holster manufacturer.

For the last eight years running, Comp-Tac® has proven the most popular competition holster brand among IDPA championship shooters. This year, the company also garnered the top spot for everyday carry holster brand, EDC magazine pouches, the second spot for magazine pouch company, the fourth spot for belt manufacturer and the second spot for concealment garment manufacturer through Armadillo Concealment, a division of Comp-Tac.

The IDPA membership, which numbers more than 22,000, has put Comp-Tac in the top spot 12 times in the annual survey since 2004.  Comp-Tac was also the most popular EDC holster six times, which accounts for every time the EDC category was surveyed. The brand has never been surveyed lower than the second spot for competition holster since 2004.

“We’re always immensely grateful for our persistent popularity within the shooting community,” said Randi Rogers, Comp-Tac director of brand management. “Many of us at Comp-Tac are shooters making gear for shooters. Our roots lay in the competitive and concealed carry communities, and we’re proud to be recognized and receive their continued support,” added Rogers, who is a seven-time IDPA national champion, eight-time IDPA indoor national champion and two-time IDPA back-up gun national champion.

Comp-Tac started in 2001 to address the lackluster offerings of concealable holsters on the market. Their holsters soon gained popularity in the concealed carry and competition holster markets, while also becoming a trusted source for off-duty LE and undercover military members overseas. Comp-Tac joined the High Speed Gear® family in mid 2018 to compliment the brand’s already diverse offerings.

Comp-Tac Products Receive NTOA Recommendations

Wednesday, February 26th, 2020

HOUSTON, Feb. 25, 2020 – Comp-Tac Victory Gear® recently received three product recommendations in the National Tactical Officers Association’s “Member Tested and Recommended” program.

Select law enforcement officers thoroughly tested the Kydex® Tourniquet TACO® (4.74), Kydex Handcuff TACO (4.45), and the Warrior Holster (4.46) and rated them in the MTR’s two highest tiers. Each product was evaluated by four officers and graded on a variety of categories, including design, performance, quality, durability and versatility, with each group of officers’ scores averaged into the ratings listed above.

The MTR program ranks products as “standard” (rating from 3.00 to 3.99), “silver” (from 4.00 to 4.49) and “gold” (from 4.50 to 5.00). NTOA members can view the full reviews and scores in the Member Tested and Recommended database.

“To start off, I have to say that I love the Handcuff TACO Kydex Pouch. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this,” stated one officer who gave the Kydex Handcuff TACO a perfect 5.00 rating. “First, I love the fact that it has the hard Kydex shell, which allows me to easily place and remove my handcuffs with ease and not have to fumble with them. Anyone who has had to handcuff someone when they are actively resisting by themselves knows that being able to use one hand, pull your handcuffs easily, and quickly is a huge benefit. I choose to not use the safety snap over the top and my handcuffs and they have yet to break loose from the pouch unintended. I have used Smith and Wesson, and Peerless brand handcuffs in the pouch with no issues. The pouch also mounts to any platform you want making it easy to switch from duty belt, vest, or even your bag. I trust using this every day and so far I have yet to find anything wrong with this.”

“I generally do not find Kydex holsters comfortable due to them not flexing, but this one is designed to be more narrow with the belt loops more underneath it instead of on the side. It is much more comfortable to wear than any other Kydex holster if have used,” said another officer who rated the Warrior an overall 4.83. “The gun fits in it perfectly and draws well from it. It rides in a neutral position and is fairly concealable. It rides snugly and is very comfortable. It held up well to impact testing by hitting into walls with it. Overall this is a well-made product and comfortable to wear.”

Every Comp-Tac product submitted to the MTR for review not only passed for recommendation but also ranked highly. Additionally, HSGI®, the parent company of Comp-Tac, also received several product recommendations from the MTR program, which were recently announced.

“We’re very excited that these officers responded so positively to our products,” said Randi Rogers, Comp-Tac director of brand management. “We pride ourselves on making gear you can rely on and it is so rewarding to hear that our men and women in uniform agree.”

SHOT Show 20 – 1 Minute Out Mod 1 from C&G Holsters

Monday, January 27th, 2020

US Army SOF Veteran Jamie Caldwell teamed up with C&G Holsters to introduce the Mod 1 holster. Fits Gen 3, 4, 5 – 19X, 45 and 17.

It’s the first IWB hosted to incorporate a hinge between the holster and accessory. Others on the market either use a piece of material between the two which can move too much, or set a hard angle in the Kydex which won’t move at all. The idea here is that you can set your own angle for comfort and tighten the hinge into place so it won’t move on you.

Features:
-Medium sweat guard
-Tall sights standard
-Black, OD Green and Coyote Brown in color
-Red dot cut out (Trijicon SRO, Leupold DeltaPoint, Sig Romeo, etc.)
-Open Bottom (Threaded Barrels & Compensators)
-Custom Discreet Carry Concepts 1.75″ Belt clips

Although currently the Mod 1 includes a mag pouch, they’re introducing a handcuff carrier soon.

Last but not least, Jamie told us he is going to design a knife for production by Abraham & Moses Survival Equipment, a Geissele brand. The sheath will be by C&G Holsters.
