Organizational Changes at SureFire

According to a memo issued yesterday at SureFire, there are a couple of organizational changes.

First, Jamie Wiedeman who recently returned to SureFire, will move over to Vice President of Military Sales. Jamie is no stranger to the military market having served a full career in the US Army. I got a chance to catch up with him at AUSA and I’d say he is an expert on SureFire products as well as their practical application.

Additionally, new hire Jeffrey Barger will be joining SureFire as Vice President of Marketing and Commercial/Consumer Sales. He brings 30 years of business experience to this role including six years as Executive Director of Commercial Development with Sturm Ruger as well as time as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Viridian Green Lasers.

We wish both well in their new positions.

Juggernaut Defense Occupies New Building

Juggernaut is proud to announce that it is now 100% fully operational in its new building located in the McDowell Mountain Corporate Center in Scottsdale, AZ.

Both Juggernaut Product Design (specializing in consumer/medical products) and Juggernaut Defense (specializing in Defense/First Responder products) occupy the upstairs studio while all Juggernaut.Case™ and Radio.Dock™ products are assembled in the newly completed manufacturing area. This new facility not only increases production capability, but allows for further growth in case, mount, and dock production.

Tactical Assault Gear Announces Mike Pino As West Coast Regional Sales Manager

Silencers Approved for Hunting Use in Florida

We have received word from friends in Florida that the state has just approved use of silencers for hunting, immediately. The move was made by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission lifting a 57-year old ban.

Doc Beech Joins Applied Ballistics As Technical Support Specialist

Cedar Springs, MI – November 18, 2014 – Applied Ballistics is proud to announce the exciting new addition of Nigel “Doc” Beech to its team. Mr. Beech will provide customer support to users of all AB products; primarily the smartphone ballistics apps and Kestrel units.

Known to many in the industry by his forum handle “DocUSMCRetired,” Doc is renowned as an expert source of information on many shooting related products.

Doc is a hunter, outdoorsman and competitive shooter; in all aspects of bow hunting, long-range and pistol. He’s currently in school getting a degree in Computer Sciences and Electronics Engineering.

The Camo Wars Heat Up – Crye Precision Sues Duro Textiles For IP Infringement

On 12 November 2014, Crye Precision filed suit in New York Southern District Court against Duro Textiles, LLC claiming IP infringement. While we have no further details, we can only wonder if this isn’t a step by Crye to protect their IP in the interest of their current licensees. And, we must wonder if this move isn’t somehow connected to the unresolved royalty situation with the US Army. Crye Precision has not responded to requests for comment, however considering this is an ongoing legal dispute we would be surprised to hear from them.
