The Winkler Neck Knife is a great entry into the line of edged tools crafted by Master Bladesmith Daniel Winkler. Granted, it’s a bit different than his traditional American designs but it’s pure quality all the same.
The handle is textured for grip and the 3 1/8″ blade has a durable Black KG finish to protect the knife under adverse conditions where routine maintenance isn’t so routine. Overall length is 7 1/8″ and the knife comes with a kydex sheath with a removable chain lanyard and optional belt loop or PALS system.

Now they’re talking. After Electronic Arts’ douchetastic move in shutting down the Medal of Honor Limited Edition version of the Voodoo Hawk, SOG Specialty Knives & Tools has stepped up and created an alternative version to ensure that pledges to support the survivors of fallen SOF warriors were honored.
Designed as a combination of their Tactical Tomahawk and FastHawk, it features an extended cutting head, compact glass-reinforced nylon handle, and metal butt cap. It is 12.56″ long and a cutting blade that is 3.5″ x .26″.
The Voodoo Hawk – Limited Edition is numbered and engraved with the SOG MACV skull insignia, and includes an exclusive special edition MultiCam sheath by London Bridge Trading Company. Most importantly, 50% of all proceeds from the 500 pieces will be donated to Special Operations Warrior Foundation, specializing in providing scholarships, counseling, and financial assistance to special operations personnel and their families.
The Voodoo Hawk from SOG was designed as a combination of their tactical Tomahawk and FastHawk. It was featured in the new video game Medal of Honor Warfighter and features an extended cutting head, compact glass-reinforced nylon handle, and metal butt cap. It is 12.56″ long and a cutting blade that is 3.5″ x .26″.
First off an update on the Downrange Tomahawk we showed you during OR. the sheath is now ready and is designed for a wide variety of mounting solutions. It is a skeletonized design to allow you to configure your breaching tool so that it is easily accessible.
Next is the Propel series of automatic knives. There is an automatic version as well as assisted opening variant. Unlike the 06 auto knife, the metal liner is recessed into the handle making it lower profile. Additionally, they feature three different, easily reconfigurable positions for the pocket clip. The blade is a modified Tanto design of S30V steel.
So you know, Downrange denotes Gerber Gear’s Tan coloration. Additionally, everything in the Downrange a series is American made.
January for the Tomahawk and February for the knives.
In honor of reaching 3000 ‘likes’ on Facebook, GSS Gear is giving away a Medford Knife & Tool TFF-3. It’s a sleek, yet sturdy, take on Greg’s beast folding knives. Like all of his folders it features a low part count and it’s incredibly easy to care for. This thing has a titanium solid scale, an aluminum lock scale, custom titanium hardware, and the blade is NP3 coated D2. This tool is meant to resist corrosion from even salt water! You can get to work and when it’s dirty you can literally wash it in the sink. It has an ambi thumb stud that turns out, can also be used as a bottle opener. The knife they are giving away is one of only a hundred made. $150 from each knife went to the families of the fallen men from the helicopter crash 8/6/2011 through the Navy League. The knives GSS bought bought are not stamped X/100 because these knives are meant to be used! Sure, a limited edition knife can be put in a case or drawer, but there’s too much utility in this knife to let it sit around.
How do you own this fantastic knife? Simple, you must like the giveaway post on Facebook, comment on the post, and share the post. You must also like GSS gear and make sure your likesshares are viewable to others or else we won’t know!
On Monday October 15th GSS Gear select a random name from those that liked/comment/reposted and award them a pocket full of awesome.
