HATEBRAKE™ Muzzle Booster

A common problem in short barrel PDW’s with low-pressure cartridges is reliable cycling. Maxim Defense HATEBRAKE™ Muzzle Booster is designed to regulate firearm exhaust gases to ensure PDW’s cycle more reliably. The primary design features include the redirection of the sound signature, decreasing the flash signature, significantly reducing recoil, and increasing accuracy.

The HATE BRAKE installs with a 3/8” drive socket from the front, enabling it to be installed under a handguard without removing the handguard. During installation, the HATEBRAKE locks into place with K-Taper, a patent-pending taper locking technology, replacing the need for proprietary tapered barrels. The external shape of the HATEBRAKE is designed to work with M-Slot compatible hand guards. The HATEBRAKE starts at just $199.95.

M-RAX Rapid Attachment System

Unlike the traditional M-Slot mounting systems, M-RAX™ utilizes the full slot of your rail, maximizing space. This makes the M-RAX™ system end-to-end stackable, giving you the option to create seamless monolithic rail sections where needed. Installation and removal is a breeze. Thanks to the spring-loaded screws, the M-RAX™ system removes mounting frustrations. Simply push the screw in with a standard hex tool and rotate 90 degrees. The locking lugs engage that readily. No more fighting or timing screws. Offered in 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 M-Slot lengths, the M-RAX is shipping today and starts at an MSRP of $39.95.

2019 Great American Outdoor Show

Friday, February 8th, 2019

For the past few years I’ve made the drive up from Hampton Roads to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to attend the Great American Outdoor Show. In the past I’ve only ever made a cursory reference to what the show is and occasionally made offhand comments about the “chaos of GAOS.” But I must assure you, those comments were made out of admiration. The show is massive and lasts for a full nine days! It’s amazing what they make happen.

This year I want to show a bit of what’s available.

If you’re an outdoorsman, particularly in the northeastern US, you need to attend GAOS at least once. As you’ll see, there’s something for everyone.

GAOS is a regional institution. While the two weekends enjoy high attendance, you’ll see crowds during the middle of the week, and these aren’t just singleton visitors. Entire families make the trek to the show and spend the whole day exploring the various halls.

In fact, the show goes for so long, many exhibitors use shifts of more than one group dividing the schedule up. With GAOS coming so close on the heels of SHOT Show, it’s amazing to see all hands on deck from companies that just did it a few weeks ago. The dedication to the customer is amazing.

Speaking of which, this is a customer driven show and not an industry only show like SHOT Show or closed to NRA members like the NRA Annual Meeting. Although none of the firearms companies sell direct to the customers, like a gun show, there are hundreds of vendors who sell a variety of products and services.

You can meet hundreds of outfitters and guide services offering a wide variety of experiences, like this gator hunt.

You can even meet with an Army recruiter.

There are tents, campers, and log homes on display.

There’s boating…

And fishing…

If offroad adventures are your game, there are vehicles and accessories galore.

If you are there for firearms, you’ll have access to some of the latest and greatest.

Air guns?

3D Action Archery?

You want camouflage? They’ve got it too.

What kind of an NRA event would it be without the Wall of Guns?

There are also multiple places to eat in the expo center and a wide variety of foods available. Lines can be long during peak meal times.

There’s just no way around it, with so many attendees, parking can be frustrating. It may take awhile to park and then you may have to wait for a shuttle bus. Which means, mind the weather. Although it’s warm and dry once you get inside, you may be standing outside for a wait of up to 15-20 minutes, depending on shuttle bus lines.

Even if you can’t make it this year, go next year. It’s a great time.

National Rifle Association Announces Daniel Defense as Friends of NRA 2019 Exclusive Guardian Sponsor

Tuesday, January 29th, 2019

FAIRFAX, Va. – The National Rifle Association is proud to announce Daniel Defense as the exclusive 2019 Guardian Level Corporate Sponsor of the Friends of NRA program. The National Corporate Sponsor program takes Friends of NRA’s support of the shooting sports to a national scale.

Friends of NRA is the blockbuster fundraising program supporting The NRA Foundation. Since day one, it has been a 100% grassroots effort fueled by a shared passion for securing the Second Amendment and raising money for the shooting sports. Since its inception in 1992, Friends of NRA has held close to 22,000 events, reached over 4.1 million attendees and raised more than $880 million for The NRA Foundation.

For the sixth year in a row, Daniel Defense’s sponsorship helps The NRA Foundation provide critical support for firearm training and educational programs that ensure the continuation of America’s proud shooting and hunting heritage for generations to come.

Cindy and Marty Daniel are passionate about supporting shooting programs focused on education and training for youth and women in particular, an interest that perfectly connects with The NRA Foundation’s goals to support educational programs such as: the NRA Online Hunter Education course, designed to help new hunters of all ages learn how to be safe and responsible members of the hunting community; and Women On Target®, a firearm handling clinic by women and for women.

“Our commitment to Friends of NRA is the right thing to do,” said Cindy Daniel, Executive Vice President of Daniel Defense. “In addition to renewing Daniel Defense as the National Corporate Sponsor for ‘19, I also started my own chapter locally called Coastal Georgia Friends of NRA. We’re surrounded by like-minded people, who genuinely share the same passion for the shooting sports, for our country, and the Second Amendment. Its way more than just a financial investment; we invest time with our children, enjoying all that the shooting sports has to offer, and most importantly, preparing the next generation of responsible gun owners. I encourage everyone to find ways to get involved on some level to ensure our children and grandchildren have the same access to shooting sports and the great outdoors.”
