Sneak Peek – The ‘Chest Rig’ Necktie from Combat Flipflops

Monday, August 10th, 2015

I ran into Griff from Combat Flipflops at Outdoor Retailer and he showed me a couple of cool new upcoming products.  I really like the Chest Rig.  It’s so good looking it will get you from the board room to the bed room.  Look for it in Scorched earth, Claymore green, Agency black and Grey man.  This sub $40 necktie is made from hemp and recycled plastic bottles which is apropos considering it is manaufactured in the Pacific Northwest.  Handmade by Veterans, for wear by all.

OR – SJK – Prototype Hunting Vest

Thursday, August 6th, 2015

SJK tactical and hunting gear has been working on a prototype Hunting Vest but looking at it, I can see a lot of utility here.  Especially if they meet their price point goal of under $100. Naturally, it will be offered in Kryptek Highlander.

OR – Yeti Coolers

Wednesday, August 5th, 2015

Yeti is rapidly becoming the gold standard for coolers.  They’ve expanded into stainless steel with four insulated items: the Colster for cans (which they can’t keep in stock), the 20 & 30 oz Ramblers and the new Lowball Rambler.  The idea with the Lowball is to offer the outdoorsman one mug for all day, from coffee in the morning to whiskey in the evening,

Stuff I Like – Under Armour’s Fish Hunter Cargo Shorts

Tuesday, June 30th, 2015

I’m a big fan of Tigerstripe so when I found these at a Sportsman’s Warehouse during a recent trip to Bozeman, I picked them up.

Made from a DWR treated, 30+ UFP, Salt and Chlorine resistant fabric, the shorts are very comfortable. In fact, I’m wearing them right now. There’s a little bit of mechanical stretch. They are board short length and feature cargo pockets on either thigh with snap closures as well as mesh-lined front slash pockets and a single rear pocket. Very comfy.

Combat Flip Flops – The Harvest

Thursday, June 25th, 2015

Meet The Harvest, a new belt, made in Afghanistan and offered by Combat Flip Flops.

Available in even sizes, 28-38, the Harvest belt features an embroidered Afghan flag colored wheat stalk.  Why wheat? Because Combat Flip Flops is about empowerment and Afghanistan grew wheat and corn before it was plagued with the poppy.   CFF is serious about this empowerment thing.  These are sewn by Afghan women who spend part of their day learning to read and the other part learning to sew in order to make a living.
