Cat Sh!t One: The Animated Series English Dub On Youtube

Sunday, January 30th, 2011

We’ve mentioned Cat Shit One before. Starting February 5th, Youtube will be hosting a free viewing of the first episode of Cat Shit One: The Animated Series for a period of just two weeks. A series by manga artist Motofumi Kobayashi, the original story took place in an alternate reality version of the Vietnam war where all the humans were replaced by animals. Americans are represented as rabbits simply because the Japanese word for rabbit in romaji is Usagi which leads to: USA G.I. The Blu-ray and DVD editions of the series will also be available on Amazon.com the same day as the episode appears on Youtube.

Check out ida-entertainment.com for the vid when it comes out.

Announcing TacticalFanboy.com

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

We’ve been working on this for awhile now; the launch of our new little brother site, TacticalFanboy.com. Awhile back we realized that as our readership grew, so did their interests begin to vary and in response, our editorial content began to shift somewhat as well. Ever conscious of our core readership, that is Industry, Government, and Military, we became a bit concerned that we had lost some of our focus on that group. And in that notion, the idea for Tactical Fanboy was born. Think of it as sort of an alter ego. Over the past few months TFB’s fan base has grown and grown. In fact, some of our most popular stories have been from TFB.

Now, we can have our cake and eat it too and so can you. SSD at work and TFB at home. SSD will go back to its roots and concentrate on hard core Government and Industry news while TFB will pick up the more recreational and entertainment sides of this community with a little bit of humor and risque content thrown in for good measure. While this may mean no more worries about running across content on SSD that may be questionable at work don’t just write TFB off as some milsim wannabe site. The name might be lighthearted but the content will always be on point. Additionally, TFB will be more of a traditional blog so feel free to comment and join in the discussion. But don’t worry, you’ll see us share content and collaborate regularly.

We hope you are as excited about this as we are. Please join TFB at www.TacticalFanBoy.com and look for TFB himself at SHOT Show.

The Kick Dummy

Monday, January 17th, 2011

It’s a dummy you use to practice kicking a man in the crotch. At least, that’s all the commercial seems to imply. And while that is a fine defensive move (sarcasm), it’s not the end-all-be-all technique that will save your life in every engagement. Hell, after hearing about this, I might just have to start wearing a crotch protector of some kind so I don’t accidentally get kneed in the sack by a former Royal Marine Commando’s daughter due to simple miscommunication. In fact, until I went to the actual website, I almost though it was a joke.

Long story short: This product is completely retarded. I don’t really care how un-PC that is, it’s the truth. If you really care that much about self-defense in the first place, put yourself, or your loved ones, through a self-defense or martial arts class and leave this steaming pile of rip-off in the infomercial where it crawled from. “As used by the world’s meanest fighters”, my ass.

Badass LEGO Guns

Sunday, January 16th, 2011

Badass LEGO Guns: Building Instructions for Five Working Guns by Martin Hudepohl is a pretty cool book. Using parts you’ll most likely have to custom order along with rubberbands and super glue, you can build any of five guns, from the semi-auto “Parabella” pistol to the fully automatic bullpup “Warbeast”, as seen on the cover. There’s also a neat butterfly knife called the “Magic Moth” available as well. If you have a bit of spare time, patience, and a love of LEGOs, then this might just be the next set of projects you could be looking for.

Video Of The Kel-Tec KSG In Action

Friday, January 14th, 2011

So I said I’d post more info on the Kel-Tec KSG as I found it. It just so happens that Kel-Tec themselves put up a video of the weapon in action:

According to the video’s comments, there will be a more in-depth video available soon after SHOT Show. In addition to this, the retail value of the shotgun is valued at $800.

And finally, if you’re attending SHOT, visit Kel-Tec at booths #16743, #16747, and #7506

Friday, January 14th, 2011

What happens when you combine a violent hoard of nearly-naked warrior Greeks with everyone’s favorite intergalatic bounty hunter? This helmet, that’s what! Designed by Jon Wollack of Almost Dark Productions, this Boba Fett x 300 Helmet should have your inner fanboy quivering with joy. Or maybe fear? Either way, it’s an awe-inspiring tribute to badassery in a most classic form.

‘Believe’ In Bulletstorm

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

Still need some convincing to pre-order Bulletstorm? Then how about this parody of the Halo 3 ‘Believe’ trailer? The detail in that diorama is amazing. It’s also hilarious.
