Magpul RLS

Building on the heritage and proven performance of Magpul’s MS Sling series, the Magpul RLS (Rifleman Loop Sling) is a durable, lightweight, and affordable shooting aid and retention device. What at first appears to be an unassuming weapon sling is quickly transformed by the end user into a rock-solid, adjustable, isometrically-tensioned shooting aid. Combining the best features of Rhodesian and 1907 match-style slings, the RLS is born of Magpul’s famous proprietary nylon mesh webbing and high-strength polymer hardware.

The American-made Magpul RLS combines legendary Magpul innovation, quality, and design into a simple and effective shooting aid for less money than many slings that merely carry a rifle.

Coming Summer 2018, in Black or Coyote.

M27 Accessories Evaluated

Saturday, April 21st, 2018

I’ve been sitting on this photo for awhile, but now that it has made it out into the wild, I figure it’s ok to share.

img_8883.jpg

I’m told it was taken at Quantico Marine Corps Base at Weapons Training Bn, and I’ve had a copy of the photo for several months.

The three weapons were under evaluation, pursuant to the impending M27 fielding. You’ll also note a few BE Meyers’ MAWLs and Geissele accessories such as the Upper Receiver Group – Improved and High Speed Selector Switch as well as B5 Systems stocks. That’s not to mention the optics. The URG-I was looked at as an alternative to fielding additional M27s, but quickly dropped as the Marine Corps has laid a solid path forward.

However, let me be very clear about this. A lot of things have been looked at, but the M27 fielding is under such close scrutiny that no changes will be made to the additional weapons, expected to be fielded later this year. Any changes will come down the road.

Warrior West 18 – BLACKHAWK Multipoint Sling

Thursday, April 19th, 2018

I was checking out the various lines offered by Vista Outdoor when I saw this fixture on a sling in the Blackhawk section. It reminded me of a frame surrounding a Red Dot Sight.

6FD277FA-3602-4687-84F5-F5EDC8584876

Turns out, it’s the rapid adjust slider for their Multipoint Sling. Although it’s fixed in an open position, it’s soft enough to collapse when you need it to.

The webbing material is offered in slick, padded and stretch variants in Coyote and Black. The sling is Berry compliant and offered in multiple mounting configurations including QD, HK hooks and free ends with no attachment, allowing you to use your own parts. But, my favorite feature is that they’ve included a two-point to single-point adapter on the models fitted with QDs.

Warrior West 18 – Titan Retention

Wednesday, April 18th, 2018

I found Titan Retention in the Phokus Research Group booth. The concept (and small business) were created by a Team Guy who wanted a better mousetrap. In this case, his mousetrap was a weapon retention device.

Titan Retention uses a ratchet system to retain weapons and equipment with 500 lbs of force. It’s also PALS compatible and your gear is easy to access thanks to the Austrialpin Cobra buckle. It sounds heavy, but it weighs just 9 oz.

Offered in multiple colors, visit www.titanretention.com for more info.
