Monday, December 16th, 2019

The New KDG HK 556 M-Lok rails are direct mount rail system, replacing the factory HK 556 rail systems. These new rails are identical in design to their big brother, the KDG HK 762 M-LOK Rail system launched by KDG earlier this Fall. Like the 762 version, these new rails are lighter, longer, and more ergonomic for the operator.

The KDG HK 556s M-Lok rails come in two lengths: 10” and 13.75”. The systems are optimized for all standard M-Lok mounted accessories, or could be used in combination with the KDG Kinect M-Lok quick attach/detach accessory mounts.   The KDG HK 556 M-Lok rail is compatible with Heckler and Koch 416 variants including: 416, MR 556, and M27.

The new rail is available through the KDG website, and authorized distributors and dealers. For more information, visit kineticdg.com/product-category/hkparts or email  info@kineticdg.com.

BCM MK2 Upper Receiver Aligned. Unbending

Thursday, December 12th, 2019

C079B6AA-F64B-4C05-A3A7-7A45B98B953E

Redesigned by lessons learned in combat since 9/11, the BCM MK2 Upper Receiver is built with up to 30% more rigidity than the current Mil-Spec M4 upper receiver without sacrificing interoperability for a mere additional 1/3 ounce of weight.

MEET THE NEW WAR – SAME AS THE OLD WAR

Upper receivers with baked in carry handles and iron sights have been relegated to history. Optics are now synonymous with forward deployed combat carbines, featuring modular “optics ready” flat top upper receivers. Driven by a sense of urgency to improve lethality and save American lives in real-time, this innovation has inadvertently introduced a degradation in the rigidity of the upper receiver, with the weakest point being the area around the ejection port.

Shifting mass from non-critical to critical areas; the BCM Mk2 Upper Receiver reduces barrel deflection and enhances bore tolerances improving barrel alignment, consistency and accuracy. This enhanced rigidity aids accuracy by limiting barrel deflection from external loads such as a bipod or vertical grip. Also prevents unwanted deflection of moving components, reducing the chance for premature damage and wear of the bolt and barrel lugs which results from misalignment.

POSITIVE EFFECT ON TARGET

In addition to weapon optics, suppressors have also become standard in modern combat operations. With added gas expansion areas and new channels added around the charging handle opening, vent gas away from the end user’s face, reducing distractions when employing the weapon system with a can.

LETHALITY IN THE DETAILS

Fine tuning the positioning of the forward assist creates additional clearance for right hand sided charging handle manipulation and clearance for end plate mounted slings.

USGI

The MK2 Upper Receiver also retains all USGI components in assembly and works with all USGI bolt carriers, charging handles and barrel assemblies.

BUILT TO EXCEED

Forged from 7075T6, the BCM MK2 Upper Receivers retain a form following grain structure which maximizes achievable strength. All of these improvements come without affecting the manual of arms employed in manipulating a Mil-Spec upper receiver.

MADE IN AMERICA

All BCM components and accessories unite state of the art manufacturing with lightweight and durable materials to ensure components that last a lifetime, performing far beyond performance requirements established nearly six decades ago.

New Backplate for Masterpiece Arms Pistols for Use with a Brace

Thursday, December 5th, 2019

EZ Accuracy introduces the MPA Backplate, an adapter to use a folding brace on new Masterpiece Arms pistols

WARMINSTER, Pennsylvania- 4December2019- EZ Accuracy, a gunsmith shop and innovator of firearms tools and accessories, announced today the release of a backplate that directly attaches to new Masterpiece Arms pistols.  When installed, a Magpul 3-slot Rail Section can be attached so that any brace that connects to a picatinny rail can be mounted.

“The idea came from a local gun shop owner,” says Eric Feldman, owner of EZ Accuracy.  “Once we completed the design and had some prototypes made, we realized how good the set up worked.  MPA did a great job bringing this pistol back.  It’s a simple design the works effectively and with the added brace, becomes a very stable platform.”  The MPA Backplate is manufactured in the USA from solid aluminum and then hard anodized for a finish that will last.

With the recent popularity of pistol caliber carbines and braced pistols, this is a great addition to the market as it comes in at a lower price than some of the other big names on the market. The MPA Backplate is available on the EZ Accuracy website for $39.95 and free shipping. The gunsmiths at the shop have also put a few pistols together that can be purchased as a completed package. These guns will be shipped to your FFL at no charge. Its important to know that the brace puts most people too high on the gun to use the iron sights and a red dot style sight will have to be used.

Currently, there are two varieties of completed pistols at www.ezaccuracy.com that can be purchased.  The complete packages will run you $734.95 MPA30SST and $834.95 the MPA30DMG.

P365 Owners Rejoice – SAS Slides Now Available

Thursday, December 5th, 2019

If you’re a standard size P365 owner who saw the SAS model and went, “Aw Crap” like I did, you can now get just the slide.

It’s easy to upgrade. Just drop-in your standard, non-ported, P365 barrel and recoil spring assembly to convert your pistol to the SIG Anti-Snag configuration.

I really like the integrated sight after recently firing it. It’s easy to acquire and is super low profile, actually Flush-Mounted into the rear of the slide. It’s a FT Bullseye Fiber-Tritium Night Sight.

The slide also features SIG Anti-Snag Slide Treatment and Nitron Finish.

TAC SHIELD Helps Shooters Choose the Right Tactical Sling

Wednesday, November 27th, 2019

November 26, 2019, Pinehurst, NC—When considering the best tactical sling for you, it’s essential to understand the basic functionality of slings and how specific features that they offer can either enhance or make your shooting situation very difficult.

There are five basic functionality needs for the average rifle shooter when using a sling:

1. Practicality for the situation

How will you be using your rifle? Is it for home defense? Do you shoot 3-gun? Are you in law enforcement? You may have the perfect sling in your arsenal already—a 2-point sling. The ideal staple not only for the hunt, but also for many applications is a 2-point sling—specifically a quick-adjust version like the TAC SHIELD 2-Point QD Sling with Quick Adjust. A quick-adjust sling gives you the ability to set up a steadier shooting platform, cinch your firearm tightly to your body, or sling it across your back. However, a 1-point sling like the TAC SHIELD CQB or Shock Sling could also work for you. Main difference?  Your rifle is going to hang freely, allow easy shooting on the move rather than from a platform, and a quicker transition to support side if necessary.  Consider functionality for your most-used application when choosing a sling.

2. Quick Adjustability

Whether you are heading to the urban battlefield, range, or the hunt, quick adjustability is vital. Most slings on the market are adjustable, but there will be times, on the move or aiming, that precious seconds can be lost if you are stuck adjusting your sling. A sling with a quick-adjust slider is a must when choosing your sling. The TAC SHIELD 2-point QD Sling with Quick Adjust Sling is again, a wise choice for this function.

3. Maneuverability

Obviously, 1-point slings are pretty maneuverable, so the maneuverability consideration applies most if you prefer a 2-point sling. Ensure that the sling you choose has enough adjustability to shoot both strong side and support side and keep it at a length that allows it to work on the support side, giving you an edge for a quick transition to defend yourself.

4. Attachments

Pretty simple stuff. HK hooks work with most everything on planet Earth but can be noisy and heavier. That being said, they are the “go-to” choice for single-point slings or slings that have a double to single-point conversion capability like the TAC SHIELD Warrior Sling. QD swivel attachments are excellent because they are low-profile, quiet, and light. They allow for a sling to be quickly transferred to another QD capable rifle for people who are not interested in stocking up on slings. Heavy Duty web-loop slings are certainly the quietest and attach to all long guns easily.

5. Comfort

Not all sling applications require comfort. Running and gunning for fun is typically fast-paced and short term. Carrying long distances or durations are another story, so reach for a padded sling of some type if you plan on slinging your rifle over time. The above-mentioned Warrior Sling comes in a non-padded or padded version (can be a single- or double-point sling and has a quick-adjust slider!) and is an excellent choice for any application.

Finally, think about Value. Here’s the good news. You can get an awesome, American-made sling with all the bells and whistles at a reasonable price. TAC SHIELD’s products offer extensive features and benefits for a price that is more affordable than most of their American-made competitors, on purpose…to give shooters an excellent sling for any purpose at a price that they can afford. And don’t forget that they are also battle-proven by our American soldiers.
