Sneak Peek – New Light From Inforce

Monday, November 18th, 2019

First off, Inforce is moving back to aluminum for all of their lights. For about a decade, they had gone to polymer, but starting with these two new weapon lights, the 9ZERO and FOURTY5, the bodies will be manufactured from aluminum. Specifically, they are 6061 aluminum Type III hard coat anodized.

The construction of the two lights is similar with the 9ZERO a 90 deg offset and the FOURTY5 a 45 deg offset.

Additionally, they feature an Aluminum cased activation button as well as a magnetic tape switch.

Relying on a 18650 or 123A battery, the light will offer 1200 lumens for up to 90 minutes. Final specs will probably be higher, but that’s where they have measured so far.

The 9ZERO will begin shipping in January and will run $219 with the FOURTY5 later in the Spring at $239.

Revitalizing the Subcompact: Grey Ghost Precision Releases a new GGP-26 Slide

GGP-26 Slide

Introducing the GGP-26 Slide

Wallace, ID – If you thought Grey Ghost Precision was done innovating GLOCK® slides, you’d be dead wrong. The double-stack subcompact wonder known as the G26 just got its own GGP slide with a killer new serration pattern that you’ve never seen before.

Having already engineered their G19, G17 and even SPG43 slides with tightened tolerances in multiple unique patterns, you might be asking yourself why the G26? According to GGP VP of Firearms Jason Curns, the G26 is still a widely used sidearm that many professionals use as a backup, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of concealed carriers that use the G26 as their EDC pistol. “The GGP-26 slide benefits from the same accuracy-improving tolerances that we’ve seen from our GGP-17 and GGP-19 slides. With a shorter barrel, any buff to your G26’s accuracy is a welcome improvement. Dropping in our slide with its critical tolerances (along with using a match grade barrel) should tighten your group sizes… if you, the shooter, are doing your job of course!”

GGP-26 Slide

The GGP-26 is a stripped aftermarket upgrade for your OEM G26 slide

In addition to the match grade properties of the slide’s tolerances, Grey Ghost Precision also gave the GGP-26 slide a unique slide cut that stands apart from the 6+ slide patterns that can be seen in their product lines. The front of the slide has a deep taper with stepped serrations, within that they get deeper as they progress toward the chamber area. It’s like a sunken living room for your sausage fingers that ends with a substantial ledge for ultimate leverage during press checks and malfunction clearing. “In a gunfight, every millisecond matters,” says GGP Engineer Jason Fancher. “The deep front serration is our most aggressive design yet, and for good reason. If it’s ‘go time’ and the pistol in your hands is a subcompact, you’ll need the ability to charge it and manipulate it with authority.” The rear serrations mimic this design, but at a standard depth.

The front step serrations gradually get deeper the further back they go.

Let’s talk about optics. Mounting a Micro Red Dot Sight (MRDS) on your pistol slide has become easier than ever in this day and age. GGP is no stranger to this, as their existing GLOCK® slides all have optics cuts pre-milled and tapped for some of the most popular combat proven optic sights. The GGP-26 slide is no exception, as it comes with their hybrid optic cut right out of the box. This cut allows either a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro to be mounted directly, or a Trijicon RMR/SRO with the addition of a slim shim plate that ensures a snug fit to the slide. Two popular optic footprints, and all without the need for bulky adapter plates that would only raise the optic above the bore axis. The result is low-profile and rock solid, just what you should expect from a company like Grey Ghost Precision.

GGP-26 Slide

The GGP-26 comes with a g10 coverplate and a this shim plate that converts the Leupold DPP footprint to a Trijicon RMR/SRO footprint.

GGP also includes their custom cover plate made from G10 that attractively covers the optic mount when not in use. So put away those typewriters, all you irons-only folks.

As for availability, GGP-26 slides are available now on GGP’s website for $429.99 MSRP. Considering GGP also manufactures match-grade barrels for the other GLOCK® slide offerings, it’s safe to say that GGP-26 barrels are on their way. If you want to upgrade your G26 with a GGP-26 slide, they are available at https://greyghostprecision.com/ggp-glock-26-gen-3-4-stripped-slide/

XTech Tactical Increases H&K VP9/P30 Standard Capacity with 17rd and 21rd Complete Stainless-Steel Magazines

Saturday, November 9th, 2019

Chandler, AZ- XTech Tactical, makers of premium firearm magazines and accessories, announced today the release of their expanded capacity complete magazine line for the H&K VP9 & P30 9mm pistols. These are anything but industry standard aftermarket magazines. The re-development process took over one year, and when you handle the parts it shows.

XTech Tactical first brought their VP9 and P30 magazines to market as 15rd and 20rds two years ago. The company has been widely accepted as the go-to aftermarket option that is on par with factory H&K magazines. However, consumers continuously reached out to XTech Tactical requesting an increase in capacity to bring the VP9 and P30 on par with other popular pistols.

XTech Tactical’s approach, as it has become known for, compromised nothing. The company completely re-engineered and re-tooled each of the plastic components to the flush fit magazine. In addition, the company added a 17rd indicator hole, and re-engineered the mag catch feature on the magazine body to offer seamless release on the newer VP9-B pistol.

The magazine bodies are upgraded in steel over factory and come with a lifetime warranty.  They are also available in 5 and 10 packs for both options. The 17rd magazines are only 1/10” longer than the company’s former 15rd magazines and H&K factory 15rd magazines.

The 21rd magazines feature the patent pending MTX design that offers industry leading reliability, ease of installation, and durability. The MTX line is also shipping for the Smith & Wesson M&P9 as a plus 5 9mm, and the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm as a plus 2 to both the factory 7rd and 8rd magazines.

The magazines are 17rd (MSRP $34.95) and 21rd ($59.95). They can be purchased at www.xtechtactical.com  Dealer inquiries please contact dealers@xtechtactical.com Please also follow the company on Facebook and Instagram for the latest news and promotions.

Magpul Product Release: Magpul Bipod – Sling Stud

Thursday, November 7th, 2019

The Magpul Bipod – Sling Stud QD is the next offering in the Magpul bipod line. Able to mount on the Uncle Mike’s® Sling Swivel Stud that’s common to nearly every sporting rifle made, the Magpul Bipod – Sling Stud QD is the strongest, most fully featured bipod available with direct sling stud mounting.

With its rapid-attach sling stud mounting system, the Sling Stud QD bipod takes the effort out of aligning and tightening that comes with traditional sling stud-mount bipods. The stainless-steel mounting system self-locates and aligns perfectly every time, and an ergonomic thumbwheel allows for excellent grip to ensure easy tightening. Additionally, two sizes of non-marring, high-durometer rubber mounting gaskets are provided to ensure optimized fit and load distribution on narrow sporter-contour or wider target-style forends. The ability to mount a sling with standard locking sling swivels on the forend is maintained with a low-profile sling stud on the rear of the Sling Stud QD mount, which also provides for a quick detachment when it’s needed.

Providing the same premium features available in the existing line of Magpul bipods, the Sling Stud QD bipod brings you the high performance associated with higher-priced bipods at a significantly more affordable price. Spring-tensioned, Mil-Spec hard anodized 6061-T6 aluminum and injection-molded, reinforced polymer legs stow neatly forward and snap down and lock into place with one hand. Leg extensions slide and lock securely with the push of a button on any of the seven locking detents extending from 6.6” to 10.0”. An industry-exclusive 50° of total tilt are controlled by a glove-friendly, knurled, tool-less, bipod locking knob located between the extended legs, allowing easy adjustment between shots. A soft rubber bipod locking knob cap is attached to the locking knob, giving users a steady, non-marring forward rest while the bipod is folded. Additionally, its staggered soft rubber feet hold fast on a variety of shooting surfaces and are easily removed with a roll pin punch. Should users choose to change feet, the Sling Stud QD’s legs accept most Atlas-pattern bipod replaceable feet. The streamlined housing and legs fit neatly under the barrel and are just under 2.5” deep and 3.3” wide when folded.
