(McLean, VA – October 24, 2014) The EURONAVAL exhibition in Paris, October 27 to 31, 2014, will be the backdrop for the launch of the new Sea deFNder® Remote Weapon Station (RWS). This is the third model in the deFNder® range, produced by a world’s leading firearms manufacturer, FN Herstal. Engineered for use by naval forces and coastguards, it follows the innovative deFNder® Light and the deFNder® Medium into global service.

Sea deFNder

The Sea deFNder® provides naval ships and coastguards with the advantage of superior firepower in any scenario. This includes territorial waters surveillance, self-defense, anti-piracy, anti-terrorism and the interception of drug or people smugglers. Its high modularity allows the Sea deFNder® to be mounted on a wide variety of naval vessels, from speed boats and patrollers right up to frigates and destroyers.

The Sea deFNder® RWS’ versatility extends to the weapons it can house. Its universal cradle can hold any machine gun from FN MINIMI® 5.56 up to .50 cal in the range (.50 cal is either the FN M2HB-QCB™ or FN Herstal’s exclusive FN M3R™ that offers an outstanding firing rate of 1,100 RPM). The Sea deFNder® can also be equipped with 40 mm AGLs for additional firepower.

The Sea deFNder® shares many features of the deFNder® Medium used on land based vehicles. This includes its sight module (CCD + IR uncooled or cooled), one-hand or game pad control handle and ammo box capacity. In addition, the Sea deFNder® has special specifications for naval applications:

• Specific surface treatment

• Improved water tightness and water flow

• Specific environmental qualification based on maritime standards

• Specific 2-axis gyroscopic stabilization dedicated to naval application

Prior to its official unveiling, an order has already been placed for a number of Sea deFNder® Remote Weapon Stations. This brings the total number of units ordered across the deFNder® range to over 1,300 for both land and sea based applications.

The Sea deFNder® is the latest example of constant innovation in weapons development by FN Herstal, which has a history dating back 125 years. Its exceptional service packages include everything its customers require for rapid deployment of its Sea deFNder®. This includes associated weapon(s), ammunition, technical documentation, technical support, operator and maintenance training, and installation of the RWS onto the vessel.

Patriot Ordnance Factory Releases New ReVolt Rifle

Thursday, October 23rd, 2014

Patriot Ordnance Factor has announced a brand new bolt action rifle, the ReVolt. Available in light (.223/5.56) and heavy (.308/7.62) chamberings, the ReVolt is completely legal for purchase in all 13 original colonies. The full release can be read below:

POF-USA RELEASES NEW RIFLE CONFIGURATION…A BOLT GUN, LEGAL IN ALL 13 COLONIES

ReVolt 1

PHOENIX, AZ (October 2014) — Patriot Ordnance Factory (POF-USA) continues with an American Revolution in Innovation and brings out the ReVolt™.  A new bolt action rifle, available in light (.223cal / 5.56mm) and heavy (.308cal / 7.62mm) variations for your shooting demands, which is legal in all 13 original Colonies.

These rifles feature a 14.5” M-LOK compatible handguard with 18.5” nitride heat-treated, deep fluted barrels.  New to the market is the ReVolt™ action; a straight pull only action with feed assist chambering of the next round.  The lightweight and popular Luth-AR buttstock is a standard feature on the new line.

ReVolt 2

POF-USA has maintained a focus on modularity – not only in the rifles, but also the accessories.  The bolt action handle on the ReVolt™ models can be used as a tool for tightening and removing scope mounts and rail accessories.  Muscle memory skills are virtually the same for this platform as a standard POF rifle, and all ambidextrous controls found in our Gen 4 series rifles are found in this loaded package. In addition to all of the fine features in our rifles, the ReVolt™ models also feature our E² extraction technology.  E² extraction is a patented feature of four channels along the neck of the chamber.  The channels allow gas pressure to flow backwards and push on the shoulders of the spent casing resulting in extractor life of 5X that of a standard extractor due to the push / pull action.

The ReVolt™ top end is available as a separate purchase and ships with a 10 round magazine and capture pin. This capture pin replaces the front pivot pin, permanently attaching the upper receiver to the lower receiver while maintaining the ability to “shotgun” the rifle for maintenance. The capture pin was essential in our quest to innovate a magazine fed, AR style, bolt action rifle that qualifies for ownership in all 50 states.

ReVolt 3

You can hunt with the ReVolt™ as a stand-alone weapon system or install the complete top end on your already existing mil-spec (.223cal / 5.56mm) lower half to maintain the legality necessary in owning an AR style rifle in many of the Colonies.

POF-USA accepts no compromise in the building of our product.  Our line of rifles and accessories are “Patriot” designs.  We will only produce that which is tough, accurate, modular, durable and true. This patriotic mission is brought from passion, authenticity, trustworthiness, rebellion, independence and objectivity.

ReVolt … Will You?

Crosman – Benjamin Armada PCP Air Rifle

Thursday, October 23rd, 2014

rifle-1

The Benjamin Armada is a .22 caliber pre-charged pneumatic rifle which features a Magpul M-LOK modular accessory system forend. According to the manufacturer, the Armada is the first commercially available PCP rifle that “allows shooters the same breadth of modularity and user configurability as enjoyed by the AR community.” It achieves this through the aforementioned M-LOK forend, as well as designing the rifle to Mil-Spec dimensions for the grip and stock interfaces.

The Armada is capable of delivering velocities of up to 1000 FPS with 32 foot pounds of energy. Included is a 10-shot magazine. The rifle features full suppression, and is capable of 30 shots per fill. The receiver has a machined Picatinny rail, and the bolt is reversible for left-handed shooters. Also included is an on-board gauge and two-stage trigger.

Unfortunately, the images aren’t showing the production model. Rather, it’s a special one-of-a-kind model that’s currently up for auction on Gunbroker through November 2nd, with the proceeds going to benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation. The package contains:

– Magpul M-LOK Modular Locking System
– Magpul PRS (Precision Rifle / Sniper) adjustable stock
– Magpul MBUS Pro Sight front and rear
– Magpul MIAD GEN 1.1 Grip Type 1
– Magpul M-LOK Cantilever Rail / Light mount
– Surefire Scout weapon light
– Tarjac Multi-Cam finish
– Zeiss TERRA 3x 4-12×50 mm scope
– Telescoping bipod
– 3 removable/configurable, M-LOK compatible handguards

SIG SAUER Gives Us A Look At Their Modular Handgun System Candidate

Tuesday, October 21st, 2014

FullSizeRender

At AUSA, SIG SAUER‘s Kevin Brittingham walked us through their candidate for the Army’s Modular Handgun System program which may replace the M9 Pistol issued since the mid-80s and based on the Beretta 92F.

Although based on the commercially available P320 modular pistol, SIG made a few changes to be in compliance with the Army’s requirement.

-Tan Color
-Ambi Thumb Safety
-Lower Profile Ambi Slide Release
-Loaded Chamber Indicator
-Trigger Boot
-Firing Pin Assembly

Although SIG is very optimistic about their chances, they also look at programs like this as an opportunity to improve their firearms. Some of these changes may we find their way into the P320 and other SIG firearms.
