Announcing the Pork Sword Chassis

Weighing in at a scant 14.7 ounces, the Black Collar Arms Pork Sword is a minimalist, modular chassis compatible with left- or right-handed Remington 700 footprint short actions.

Pork Sword Pistol FDE Left

With a rear Picatinny rail, build yourself a pistol with a brace like the SB Tactical FS1913 or dust off that old R700 rifle and start a new, shoulder stock-equipped project today!

Pork Sword Pistol Green Right

Ideal for hog hunting, general truck gun use, or just finding some fun on the shooting range, a Pork Sword Pistol suppresses wonderfully and puts rifle accuracy and capability in an extremely compact package.

Whether it’s the handy size, the additional handgun hunting seasons in some states, the ability to keep it loaded in a vehicle (hunting-related restrictions on loaded rifles don’t apply), the simplified ownership in some states as compared to a semi-auto pistol or rifle, how great of a suppressor host it is, or simply the cool and fun factor, a bolt-action pistol makes all sorts of sense.

Pork Sword Pistol Chalk

Pork Sword Rifle Left Folded (1)

Coming soon from Black Collar Arms for the Pork Sword:

FARend — The Pork Sword Chassis’ integral front Pic rail is a bit close for a bipod. Mount it out farther with our FARend. That’s Forward Accessory Rod. Then the word “end” so it sounds like forend. Anyway, the FARend’s M-LOK® slots allow you to mount a bipod, angled or vertical forward grip, and/or barrier stop(s) out in front of the Pork Sword Chassis, all nice and close to the bore. A lightweight, minimalist, and simple solution for extending accessories up to a foot farther out front. The production version will be quick detach. (ETA late Q1, early Q2)
Handguards — yes, yes, we’re finalizing the design on those, too. (ETA Q2)
Stock Options — lightweight, M1913 Picatinny rail-compatible, folding stocks from Black Collar Arms are coming! These will have a typical length of pull for a rifle. Our Preferred Stock Option will have an adjustable cheek rest and butt pad. (ETA late Q1, early Q2)
Black Collar Arms’ own custom pistol action (ETA mid-late Q2, maybe early Q3). Once ready, we will be submitting this to California’s Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale so it’s an easy purchase for our customers who aren’t lucky enough to live in the U.S. of A.
• Chassis for other firearms, from Ruger 10/22 to…well…we aren’t spilling the beans quite yet but other fits are coming very soon! Sign up for our email notifications to be…well…notified.

SHOT Show 19 – B&T Entries for US Army Sub Compact Weapon OTA

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019

The US Army is currently evaluating several 9mm commercial sub machine systems to satisfy their Sub Compact Weapon requirement for Military Police Personal Security Details which protect dignitaries. Swiss company B&T has two variants of their APC9 under evaluation.

The APC9 is their standard model with collapsible stock and ambidextrous controls.

The APC9-K SD has a short Suppressor, under the handguard. While integral suppression was not a threshold requirement, it was an objective. Additional suppression to become fully ear safe can be threaded into the barrel.

Below are two photos which depict how compact the weapon is with the telescoping stock fully closed.

For more information on this product and other B&T products please visit their website www.bt-ag.ch/eng.

For information on becoming a B&T USA dealer please contact Jon Scott at B&T USA, +1 (813) 653-1200. Or email sales@bt-arms.com.

SIG Range Day 19 – SL MAG, SIG’s New 338 Machine Gun

Sunday, January 20th, 2019

The coolest thing at SIG’s Range Day was the unveiling of the SIG Light Machine Gun (SL MAG) in 338 Norma Mag. You may recall the SIG Next Gen Squad Automatic Weapon candidate which was shown at AUSA back in October. Although revealed first, that machine gun is actually an offshoot if this one which was developed awhile but put on the back burner while SIG worked on their USSOCOM contract winning Suppressed Upper Receiver Group.

Designed to satisfy a desire for a 338 NM Machine Gun, the SL MAG boasts ranges that rival the .50 M2 MG from a weapon lighter than the M240.

Designer David Steimke went over some of the details of the SL MAG.

It is a multi caliber design and can quickly be switched to 7.62 NATO for use on training ranges with the swap of just four components (barrel, bolt, feed tray and cover). Additionally, the feed tray cover can be swapped for a side folding model. Below, you can see the receiver reinforcement insert common to SIG weapons.

The feed tray design allows a new belt to be fed into the weapon without opening the cover and ammunition feed can be swapped from left to right.

The collapsible stock is side folding.

On this SL MAG, you can see the ROMEO8T Red Dot Sight with Magnifier.

We were treated to a short demo of the weapon firing.

For the demo, they fired SIG Ammo.

Although the demo did not feature a Suppressor, the weapon was optimized for use with one. There are three gas setting including a Suppressor setting.

We’ll update you as we learn more about the SIG family of machine guns.

Shadow Systems Releases Multi-Role MR918 9mm Pistol

Sunday, January 20th, 2019

Plano, TX (January, 2019) – Shadow Systems, a US-based manufacturer of custom Glock pistols and Glock compatible parts and accessories, is proud to announce the release of their first proprietary pistol design, the MR918.

The MR918 name comes from the idea of creating a true “multi-role” pistol. The size and operating system are inspired by the Glock Gen4 G19 model, but many aspects have been completely redesigned. In particular, the frame features a new approach to interchangeable backstraps, called the NPOA system for “Natural Point of Aim.” Shadow ignored the conventional “small, medium, and large” approach and opted for backstraps that fundamentally change the bore orientation of the pistol. Included with the pistol is a high, neutral, and low backstrap; each backstrap’s name corresponds to how it orients the muzzle relative to the shooter’s hand.

Chad Jewett, Shadow National Sales Manager, notes: “Many people find Glocks point high for them. Others love it. We have a High backstrap for Glock lovers, a Neutral backstrap that matches our custom Glocks with a backstrap reduction, and a Low backstrap that brings the muzzle down even further like a 1911 with a flat mainspring housing. Each one makes the gun point totally differently so you can find what matches your natural point of aim.”

Shadow has incorporated many of the customer-favorite extras found on their current custom pistols including front and rear directional serrations, optic cuts, window cuts, stainless guide rods, and flat-faced triggers. Every pistol also includes a proprietary removable magazine well at no extra charge for those who want to improve their reload speed. Surprisingly, the pistols feature reasonable price points in the $799-999 range.

General Manager, Trevor Roe, explains: “From the beginning, our goal was to give the consumer a bet-your-life reliable, feature-packed pistol for under $1K. We’ve invested a ton to get here and have incorporated lean manufacturing practices to control cost. The result is the highest value, U.S. produced handgun in existence. It’s a no brainer when the next best thing might be $1,000 more.”

The MR918 is available in “Combat” and “Elite” versions, with or without optic cuts. All models feature a match grade, spiral-fluted barrel with either a premium bronze Titanium CarboNitride finish or black DLC finish. All slides feature a black DLC finish. All models also include three NPOA backstraps, a detachable magazine well, and a zippered range bag.

The guns below are pre-production hand-stippled versions. Hand stippling may be available as custom option in the future:

MR918

The frame has been in development for two years and is 100% a Shadow System design, not a rebrand of another frame already in the market. The frame makes use of new manufacturing techniques to wrap more texture around the curves of the frame and put grip texture in places not normally seen on production guns.

The MR918 will be released to the public at SHOT Show, on January 22nd, 2019. They will be immediately available for pre-order and the first MR918 pistols will ship in March 2019.

SIG SAUER Introduces the MCX Rattler Canebrake

Thursday, January 17th, 2019

Newington, N.H. (January 17, 2019) – SIG SAUER Inc. is pleased to Introduce the MCX Rattler Canebrake, the newest addition to the MCX family.

“The MCX Rattler Canebrake was created for those that desire the MCX as a suppressed system and eliminates the need to purchase additional components to do so,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales, SIG SAUER, Inc. “The Rattler Canebrake comes with a factory installed inert training device, making it operable right out of the box while NFA paperwork and waiting periods are completed, and then is easily convertible to run suppressed.”

The MCX Rattler Canebrake comes as a suppressor ready platform with an SD handguard and inert training device that mimics the size and weight of the SIGSRD762 suppressor and assures all muzzle flash is past the shooter’s hand when reaching out on the handguard during operation without a functional suppressor installed.   With the MCX Rattler Canebrake there’s no need for the purchase of a shorter barrel kit and SD Handguard to have a suppressed MCX system, simply unthread the inert training device, install your suppressor, and select the appropriate gas setting for your ammunition. Additional features of the MCX Rattler Canebrake include a 2-stage flat-blade match trigger, Cerakote E190 finished upper and lower, a folding coyote-tan PCB, and comes with one 30-round polymer 300BLK Magpul™ magazine.

The MCX Rattler Canebrake and the entire MCX series will be on display at the SIG SAUER Exhibition Booth at SHOT Show 2019 (#12240) in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 22, 2019 through January 25, 2019.

Hush Puppy Project Brings Back Hush Puppy Pistols, Silencers and Ammunition

Wednesday, January 16th, 2019

The Hush Puppy Project®, in conjunction with Super Vel ammunition, will be releasing a Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 9mm based pistol featuring a patent pending Slide Locking Device (SLD) at SHOT show 2019.  To take full advantage of the locked breech capabilities of the pistol, a new silencer design (the Model 1) featuring modular components and hybrid technology will be released at the same time.  The pistol and silencer have been specifically tuned to provide maximum signature reduction with Super Vel’s Hush Puppy 147 grain FMJ subsonic ammunition.

Hush Puppy’s® M&P 2.0 pistol can be fired in semi-automatic or locked breech mode.  With the SLD engaged, the slide is restricted from cycling, thus eliminating all mechanical sounds of the gun and directing all gasses through the silencer. The original use of a slide lock device was on the Mk 22 Mod 0 pistol fielded by the U.S. Navy SEALs in Vietnam; it was also based on a S&W pistol (Model 39) and was commonly known as the “Hush Puppy.”  In addition to a Hush Puppy® slide lock device, the M&P pistol comes with a factory threaded barrel and factory suppressor height sights.

Available separately, but designed for, the Hush Puppy® pistol is a modular silencer of novel design incorporating both mono core- and wipe-style sound reduction systems. This hybrid design is comprised of three modules and is called the Hush Puppy® Model 1 silencer. The modular design allows for the silencer to be shot in multiple configurations including a hearing safe K configuration and multiple dry and wet wipe configurations for maximum sound reduction.  This unparalleled modularity has been dubbed “Tunable Technology” and allows the shooter to tailor the silencer to varying levels of size, weight and sound reduction based on their needs.

Lastly, the Hush Puppy Project’s sister company, Super Vel Ammunition®, manufactured the original subsonic Mark 144 9mm Luger ammunition for the Mk 22 Mod 0 pistol from 1967 to 1973.  Building on this experience, the modernized Hush Puppy® pistol and Model 1 silencer are designed to function best with Super Vel’s Hush Puppy 147 gr. FMJ subsonic ammunition.  Also available is a special purpose 115 grain subsonic EXPANDING Solid Copper Hollow Point loading for the Model 1 K can configuration (not for use with the Model 1 wipe modules).

Hush Puppy Project products will be exclusively distributed by Lipsey’s.  Come see the new products at Super Vel’s SHOT show booth 1720 or at Lipsey’s booth 11329. Hush Puppy® is a registered trademark. The Hush Puppy Project® and Lipsey’s are based in Baton Rouge, La. www.hushpuppyproject.com   info@hushpuppyproject.com
