August 15th, 2012The SSD Logo
August 15th, 2012Just after the site launched in 2008, Mil-Spec Monkey designed the SSD logo for us. Overall, it symbolizes the individual warrior through the traditional Davinci’s Vitruvian Man representing how art and science combine to outfit the Soldier blended with a 1960s futuristic feel in the form of the Olympic Sports Pictogramme-style which also alludes to the athletic facet of the Warrior. It holds the rugged individual as its core with a nod to the past and a look to the future. The font is Toaster.

Kryptek Flint and Steel Survival Bracelet
August 15th, 2012There are lots of ‘survival’ bracelets on the market made from woven parachute cord. While the 550 cord and it’s internal strands can sure come in handy in a survival emergency once unravelled and gutted, they don’t offer anything but cordage. However, the new Flint and Steel Survival Bracelet from Kryptek incorporates fire making tools into the clasp. So, you don’t just get a bracelet with a unique look but also both fire making and cordage to deal with extreme situations.
