TACSOP Battle Book Covers

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

CPGear offers covers for your TACSOP. The TACSOP Battle Book Covers are designed to fit the 3″ x 5″ or 4″ x 6″ Rite in the Rain Field Notebooks. Additionally, they have external pockets for writing instruments as well as a large pile panel across the back to facilitate attachment to CPGear’s leg panel. Made in Canada from 420D Cordura, the covers are available in UCP, Coyote, MultiCam, and CADPAT TW.

Don’t forget to take a look at the page protectors as well. Available in 3″ x 5″ and 4″ x 6″ the Noteguard Sheet Protector Pocket accept writing from permanent markers, staedler markers, sharpies, standard and mechanical pencils but the markings won’t be absorbed by the vinyl meaning you can use them over and over. Additionally, toner from photocopies will not stick to the Noteguard Pockets.

Reversible Tactical Modular Assault Panel

Monday, September 13th, 2010

The whole idea behind this product is unique. Since the US Army has adopted MultiCam for use in Afghanistan, troops will find themselves requiring equipment in more than one pattern. So, CPGear designed a reversible, modular chest rig that is UCP on one side for garrison use and MultiCam on the other for combat use.

As you can see, the rig comes with anchor points that attach to the Improved Outer Tactical Vest’s (IOTV)PALS grid. This facilitates rapid donning and doffing. Additionally, the RTMAP is designed to integrate with IOTV’s cutaway mechanism without interfering.

An added bonus to having PALS on both sides of the rig is that pouches can be attached on the inside as well. Take for instance this radio pouch. Not only does attaching it to the inside give you more real estate for other items but it also protects the radio from some of the knocks and dings it could otherwise be subjected to.

If you’ll be attending the Infantry Warfighter Conference this week at Ft Benning, Georgia be sure to stop by CPGear’s booth # 1109.

Coyote Z-Lite Sleeping Pad

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Cascade Designs has taken their popular lightweight Z-Lite folding mat and changed the color from Orange to Coyote. A simple mod but it means the world to troops who want to put the Z-lite’s egg carton-style cushioning to work in the field. It folds out to a roomy 20” wide x 72” long yet weighs in at only 15 ounces! And, unlike air mattresses, you don’t have to worry about leaks.

Previously in limited production the mat was evaluated by the Marine Corps. However, Cascade Designs put them into full production based on its adoption by an element of the US military. CPGear is the first company we have seen to offer this product.

Canadian Cot Organizer

CPGear by Wheeler

After seeing our article on Cabelas’ Cotside Nightstand, a reader alerted us to Canada-based Wheeler’s Cot Organizer manufactured under their CPGear Brand.

CPGear Cot Organizer

Constructed of mil-spec materials such as 420 denier nylon pack cloth, nylon mesh, and nylon webbing, it’s a bit pricier than the Cabelas model, but you get what you pay for. If you would prefer to spend your money on non-Asian alternatives, then the CPGear model, manufactured from quality materials in a NAFTA and NATO partner country, is the one for you.
