The Institute of Military Technology
Thursday, July 21st, 2011We recently found out that, naturally enough, Knight’s Armament Corp has a collection of Weapons, Military Vehicles and “Significant Memorabilia.” Unlike many collections which are kept under lock and key, KAC has decided to turn them into a sort of museum. Formed from the private collection of Reed Knight Jr, it is better known as The Institute of Military Technology. According their website, IMT “exists to Preserve, Educated and Motivate anyone who peruses this extensive collection.”
Here you can see the Hall of Armor which is joined by the Hall of Modern Arms and Hall of US Arms. In addition to eduction, the collection also serves as a “reference library” for weapons that are available for study by researchers at KAC.
The Institute of Military Technology is located in Titusville, Florida. To learn more, check out the website. www.instmiltech.com
KAC Introduces 45° Offset Rail Mounted Micro Folding Sights
Sunday, July 3rd, 201145° offset mounts for backup sights are becoming more popular. When needed, the shooter cants the weapon to the left to bring to sights into alignment with the target. Some of these new mounts utilize fixed sights which may become hung up on equipment or obstacles, while others utilize mini red dot sights which often rely on batteries themselves or may be suffer from broken glass. Knight’s Armament Corp on the other hand, has adapted their adjustable back up iron sights for use in the offset role.
The front sight is adjustable for elevation and the rear sight can be adjusted not only for windage, but also for ranges between 200-600 meters.
Trade Your Stinky Kit for KAC Products
Wednesday, September 8th, 2010Grey Group Training is tired of seeing shiny crap kit in advertising and so is Knight’s Armament. They have teamed up with Knight’s Armament Corporation to present a contest that seeks used dirty real world plate carriers and armor carriers with pouches, patches, etc (don’t include armor, plates, mags, or sensitive items…) in exchange for prizes.
Here’s how it works. You post your pictures of your used kit on their Facebook page from now until 17 September and GGT will pick the 6 best sets of kit. Selectees ship their used kit to Grey Group (they pay the shipping), and the selectees receive prizes back from Knight’s as well as the bragging rights for their kit being used in KAC ads.
Knight’s is putting up everything from hand stops to Aimpoint mounts, apparel, rails, and even a SR 15E3 complete upper! So, start digging in the tough boxes in the garage, and get the camera ready. The more used the kit setups the better. Good luck!
KAC Finger Stop
Friday, July 3rd, 2009As of late there has been a wide proliferation of Short Barreled Rifles (SBR) with some as short as ten inches. Back in the days of the MP5K some shooters had the nasty habit of allowing one or more fingers to wander a bit too close to the barrel so the foregrip was modified with a finger guard. Also, many shooters are using foregrips and mini-foregrips simply as hand stops in order to index where their hand should rest. So Knights developed a new Finger Stop P/N: 25460 to both protect the fingers of shooters and permit a low profile index on the front rail.
Here you can see the Finger Stop employed on a KAC Personal Defense Weapon.
The Finger Stop also incorporates a push button front sling swivel and attaches to a Mil Std 1913 rail.
