Bellingham, Wash. – Mustang Survival announced today that Team Comanche will wear Mustang Survival’s new range of performance waterproof, breathable outwear at the Rolex Sydney Hobart race beginning December 26, 2015 in Sydney, Australia.

“Mustang Survival has been building leading dry solutions for the military, coast guard and water rescue professionals for decades,” said Jason Leggatt, VP commercial products. “This expertise, along with our access to ultra-premium ingredient technologies like military-grade GORE-TEX fabrics, has allowed us to build what we, and Team Comanche, feel is the world’s driest, toughest performance outerwear.”

A 100 ft. Supermaxi yacht, Comanche, was built with one thing in mind; compete in the world’s great ocean races and break open-ocean racing records. Everything counts in these demanding multi-day races and poor performing gear can rapidly deteriorate the athlete’s advantage. Team Comanche, skippered by Ken Read, will be fully outfitted in Mustang Survival’s new range of outerwear, which includes a dry suit, pro smock, spray smock and salopettes, and base layers.

“Working with Mustang Survival to develop the EP series of ocean racing gear led to what will be the new benchmark for serious sailors. When we put the gear on in our fit trials, we knew we had something special. Testing it over the run up to the race, we were very impressed by the performance of the gear,” said Tony Mutter, watch captain and twice-winner of the Volvo Ocean Race.

In addition to the technical outerwear debuting at Sydney Hobart 2015, Mustang Survival will be releasing additional products in the fall of 2016. These will integrate seamlessly with the EP Ocean Racing Series, including a new Fusion Merino base layer, ocean racing gloves and more. By designing and developing the range together, Mustang Survival engineered what will be the only series of ocean racing products built to work as a system.

Jared Rhind, head of design comments, “By ensuring our products integrate seamlessly with one another through fit, material selection, and function, the result is a sum greater than its parts; a system benefit that no other can offer.”

Mustang Survival’s EP Ocean Racing Series will launch in June 2016 at retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

BELLINGHAM, Washington – Mustang Survival® announced today that it will be expanding its suite of water rescue solutions. Driven by end-user inputs and engagement, the suite will now include products designed to enable previously unreachable levels of performance.

To allow swift water rescue professionals to focus on the task at hand instead of worrying about their own safety, Mustang Survival is introducing the following new products:

Rescue Swimmer Vest – Hailed as the first rescue swimmer vest to turn a compliance device into a tactical piece of equipment that actually helps get the job done. Designed for the performance-driven public safety water professional who can’t afford to be impeded by extra gear, this vest blends two of Mustang Survival’s core competencies – inflatable flotation and foam flotation – to offer a slim profile flotation solution. Model # MRV170.

High Visibility Dry Suits – Two favorites will soon be available in high visibility fluorescent yellow-green. The station-use Swift Water Rescue Dry Suit and the Sentinel™ Series Swift Water Rescue Dry Suit will soon be the first ever dry suits made of military-grade fluorescent yellow-green GORE-TEX® fabric. Extensive field testing has proven these suits to be more visible in a rescue environment than any other. Model #s MSD576 and MSD624.

Thermal Base Layers – Designed as part of a full thermal management system, these two new base layer options have been constructed for optimal compatibility with Mustang Survival dry suits. Available in a midweight and lightweight version, each solution will be offered as a two-piece set made of the highest quality Polartec® materials to provide optimal flexibility based on mission profile. Model #s MSL602, MSL603, MSL604, MSL605.

Mustang Survival Announces Berry Compliant Aviation Dry Suit System

Tuesday, March 31st, 2015

Constant-wear comfort for over-water helicopter operations

MUSTANG SURVIVAL MSF300

BELLINGHAM, Washington – Mustang Survival® announced today that it has successfully configured a Berry Compliant version of its popular MSF300 Constant Wear Aviation Dry Suit System. The suit has been in service for more than a decade, supporting over-water helicopter missions with the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Customs and Border Protection among others.

The MSF300 is a two-layer dry suit that combines the performance of a three-layer system into two layers to offer greater mobility with reduced bulk and lower thermal burden.

The outer shell uses a blended GORE-TEX®/NOMEX® fabric that is waterproof, breathable, flame-retardant and anti-static. High-wear areas are strategically reinforced to enhance the suit’s durability and prevent abrasion damage that could compromise the suit’s integrity. The breathable thermal liner provides both insulation and emergency flotation and features Mustang Survival’s aerated closed-cell foam, quilted with a wicking fabric that pulls excess moisture away from the body. The two layers combine to provide a thermal Clo value of 0.58.

“Achieving Berry Amendment compliance without impacting form, fit or function was a challenging process, and one we weren’t willing to compromise on,” said Bryan Price, Director Government Business Development of Mustang Survival. “Wearers appreciate the suit’s patented adjustable neck seal that can be worn loose to provide comfort out of the water and quickly drawn tight to keep the water out, as well as the ability to self-don, the convenience of the removable thermal liner and the comfort of the universally sized dry socks. Berry compliance now makes this feature set more accessible to the most demanding military aviators.”

This Berry Compliant version of the suit – proudly manufactured in the U.S.A. with U.S.A.-sourced materials and components – can be ordered by model number MSF300 version GB.

For more information on the MSF300, visit Mustang Survival booth #1512 at the Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit March 29 – April 1 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN. Detailed product information is also available online at www.mustangsurvival.com/professional/MSF300.

Mustang Survival Introduces Dry Protective Layer At The 2014 Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit

Friday, May 2nd, 2014

BURNABY, BC – Mustang Survival is proud to introduce a new line of environmental Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Designed to be worn underneath flight suits, standard uniforms and outer garments, Mustang Survival Sentinel™ Series Dry Protective Layer (DPL) provides mission-critical exposure protection in a lightweight and technical mid-layer. Developed with input from military aviation users including US Army Aviation and USCG Aviation, the DPL reduces the bulk and interference commonly associated with immersion protection.

MSD406_Front

“Staying dry is essential to an operator’s ability to perform,” comments Brian Dalgliesh, Military Business Development at Mustang Survival. “Since water transfers heat away from the body faster than air, constant wet exposure can quickly deprive you of mental and physical capacities. With current environmental PPE being worn as an outer layer, bulk, impediment of movement, and compatibility with equipment is always a concern. The DPL offers users environmental protection while allowing them to wear their choice of outer garments – which can be imperative for covert operations. In testing, our Special Operations field testers confirmed that the DPL increases operational efficiency by keeping users dry while removing impediments to movement, mobility, and load carrying abilities.”

The DPL (MSD406) is a one-piece technical mid-layer made of waterproof, breathable military-grade GORE-TEX® fabric. It has been designed to provide advanced protection while on operational missions in extreme weather or when there is risk of experiencing wind, rain, snow, or immersion. A patented, adjustable neck seal allows the user to easily vent the suit to reduce thermal burden, and to quickly close the neck seal with one hand to make it watertight. Weighing only 24-ounces, and incorporating stretch panels across the back, knees and elbows, the DPL provides improved mobility and less bulk than other immersion solutions.

The DPL is exclusive to Mustang Survival’s Sentinel™ Series line of protective apparel, and also features:
· Mobility Based Sizing™ – offers users a semi-custom size fit that reduces bulk and increases mobility without the custom price tag
· Rapid Repair Technology™ – enables users to field replace neck and wrist seals and repair small leaks in under an hour.

In addition to the DPL, Mustang Survival will be launching the Sentinel™ Series Aviation Dry Suit (MSD697) at the Army Aviation Mission Solutions this May. The Aviation Dry Suit is a waterproof, breathable, fire-resistant dry suit ideal for extended over-water missions in colder climates.

For more information about the DPL, Aviation Dry Suit, and Mustang Survival’s full line of PPE for military users, please visit the Mustang Survival booth at The Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit in Nashville, TN May 4-6, 2014 or visit www.mustangsurvival.com.
