New Holster Option for MRD Equipped Glocks

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

Grey Group Training just added a new holster from Safariland (ALS 6354 OPTIC QLS FORK) designed specifically for Glocks with a slide mounted mini red dot optic or tall target style adjustable sights. It is available in two versions, one is for a pistol with a mounted X300 and the other without, for both the Glock 17/22 and the 34/35 in right or left hand options. The version for the SureFire X300 is specifically designed to interface smoothly with the DG switch. As you can see, the holster is offered in MultiCam and covered in a suede/330D Cordura laminate for sound and visible signature reduction. The Cordura covering and all visible hardware is treated to minimize Near Infrared (NIR) and visible signatures.

The holsters come mounted with a Quick Locking System (QLS) 19 fork and have no other mounting provisions included. However, this will attach directly to a similarly equipped belt mount or leg shroud. The new fork is much stronger than the original model but won’t slide right into PALS webbing. To mount to MOLLE/PALS you will need a MOLLE fork with a QLS receiver. It’s 360 degree adjustable.

Injection Molded Single Magazine Pouch

Monday, May 10th, 2010

One of the coolest things I saw at last week’s ADS Warrior Expo West was Safariland’s Model 71 Injection Molded Single Magazine Pouch. Sized to fit up to a 1.75″ belt the flexible “accordion” design accepts almost any single or double stack magazine as well as flashlights, knives, and multi-tools. Despite its open top, the material and design work together for positive retention. Right now they are only available in Black but I saw prototypes of a Tan version and there is talk of offering the pouch in a MOLLE compatible version as well. Simple, yet versatile. I can’t wait to get my hands on some.

Over the next week or so, I’ll be discussing several products that I saw at the ADS Warrior Expo so come back often.

A-TACS Sighting #4

We found this example in the Safariland booth all jocked up for a dynamic entry. It gives you a great idea of how well accessories blend in with the base uniform in this pattern.

New Safariland 6004 Accessory

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

These are photos of a new 6004 accessory called the MOLLE Locking System. In fact its not intended solely for the 6004, it can be adapted to a variety of Safariland products. The mounting fork easily slides into MOLLE channels. Additionally, the MOLLE Locking System allows the user to retain the same leg shroud but easily change out actual holsters by means of the fork affixed to the rear of the holster that slides into a MOLLE receiver plate mounted on the shroud. It is also compatible with a MOLLE panel, belt mount, and shoulder rig.
